Summer Lesson

I would probably describe Summer Lesson as more of a slice-of-life game than I would a flat-out lewd game. Do not get me wrong, there is a very voyeuristic and naughty aspect to this game, but if you are coming here to bang a hot chick, you have come to the wrong place. This is actually a VR game so you will need a PSVR in order to play this game. I am actually pretty mind blown that this game was translated into English.

Working For The Agency

The “plot” of Summer Lesson is that you are a teacher who is working for an agency and you have been hired to tutor Chisato Shinjo. She is a teenager and she is from a life of extreme privilege and she lives in this very creepy-looking house. I thought for sure the house was going to be haunted or play some role in the story, but it did not. Anyway, you need to help her get her grades up so that she can do better at school and have a brighter future. The story of the game is very short, but it is designed to be played through multiple times.

Nodding Your Head

This is a VR game where you only use your head movements to make actions on the screen. Summer Lesson has two different main phases of gameplay. The first one is set in a coffee shop and it is here you must plan your lesson for the day. You nod and look at different aspects that you want her to learn about. The agency will give you goals of what she is to achieve and it is up to you to plan your lesson accordingly.

The second phase has you delivering the lesson, here you are in her bedroom as you tutor her. There are bits of dialogue where you get to know her better and you can unlock various things that will put her in more revealing clothes and situations. The ultimate goal is to help her get a higher grade.

Personal Space, Personal Space!

As Summer Lesson is a VR game they have tried to make it as immersive as possible. I think that they do succeed with this. To start with the game is very good-looking, Chisato has a very realistic look to her, without being too creepy looking like some VR characters can be. The thing is, you stand like really close to her, sometimes she is right in your face and it can be uncomfortable, she likes to do tricks and show off and the way things come right at you is very well done.

There is some great voice acting in the game and the game is lip-synced very well. This helps greatly with the immersion and it makes it feel more like a real experience if you know what I am saying.

• The way it tracks your head movements is very well done
• It gives you a reason to replay the game to unlock more outfits

Cons:

• She sometimes stands way too close to you
• You can beat the game in around an hour
