Almastriga

Today I am checking out Almastriga which as I write this is a game that is still very heavily in development so that is something to consider when reading this review. The game is being funded by Patreon and I have found the dude behind the game to be pretty upfront and honest with how the game is progressing. Oh, before you go any further, you might be interested to know that this is a XXX adult game!

You Will Not Cross Over!

I know that when it comes to lewd games, the story is not exactly what people come to these games for. However, I do feel that Almastriga is offering a decent story for a game of this style. The main character that you play as is Jane and Jane is being hunted and cursed by an evil spirit that wants to use her body to cross over to her world. There is an evil curse, jane likes to get it on and there is more to the story, but I do like what is here.

The visuals of Almastriga are rather hard to talk about. The game so far in the state it is in looks great. But I feel like there is more coming in terms of the visuals. Jane looks super-hot and of course, her giant boobs bounce nicely as she moves around the levels. Speaking of the levels, these look great and manage to have a really creepy vibe to them. There is this one section that had this strange eyeball thing in the background that creeped the hell out of me! The soundtrack of the game is fitting in that it is dark and moody when it needs to be and jacks you up when you need it. Again, this an area of the game where I feel they will improve as it progresses through development.

Melee Or Magic?

Now, let’s get to the gameplay of Almastriga. This is described as a Metroidvania game and so far, it is a little bare-bones, but the framework is here. Playing as Jane, you talk to NPCs and you get a variety of missions to do. It seems like every NPC you speak to in the game is there for a reason and that is something I like. Jane controls well enough and you can fight with melee or magic abilities. I am more of a quick striking kind of man, but the combat while kind of shallow does show signs of promise.

There are also fairy companions that you can get which will also help with your attacks. There is a farm where most of the sex is going to go down, but crafting and customization and other such things are going to be added to the game as it progresses through development.

Pros:

• I liked Jane as a character
• You can tackle combat the way you want
• NPCs always have something interesting for you
• The game has a really creepy art style
• Much of the new content that is coming sounds great

Cons:

• There is still a ton missing from this game
• I am not sure all of the XXX stuff is needed
