Arcane Lust 18+

Keeping a relationship afloat isn’t always easy, much less when your better half is a malfunctioning fox-girl android. Arcane Lust 18+ puts you in charge of Aelin, a cute automaton with carnal desires that you must keep content for at least 10 days. Your reward? Well, I’m pretty sure you can guess what you’ll get in return, especially when the game’s title literally says “18+”.

Unlike the usual visual novels, where interaction is more of an afterthought, Arcane Lust 18+ is equal parts story and simulation, offering the player multiple opportunities to “bond” with Aelin. You’ll have to make sure all her needs are fulfilled before you can get to the good stuff. It’s kind of taking care of your virtual pet in Digimon Adventure – only with more sex involved.

For Fun (And Responsibility)

As I mentioned before, your utmost task in this game will be to take care of Aelin, an android with a heart of gold (and a nuclear libido.) The story plays like a strange episode of Black Mirror, where the player character finds himself trapped in a futuristic theme park with a malfunctioning robot.

It’s all fun and games until Aelin’s systems start going haywire. The only way to keep her pleased is to manage her emotions and needs. To be honest, there are only a handful of visual novels I can think of that feature this level of interactivity. It feels more like a social link in Persona than it does a porn game, to be honest – and that’s great to see.

(Very) Brief Escapades

In a game like this, you’d expect that watching sex scenes would constitute most of your playtime. Here’s the kicker, though: it’s not like the game has a shortage of intimate sequences – it’s just that they’re over before you know it. I’m sure there’s a premature ejaculation in there somewhere, but it would take me more time to think about that than to watch all of the porn game this game has to offer.

Honestly, I can’t complain too much about it. Sure, those looking for a more “carnal” experience might feel robbed, but if all you want is a cute simulator game about an android girl who needs your attention, Arcane Lust 18+ is just what you need. Unless you want something a bit more sinister, in which case you can’t go wrong with MiSide.

Lasting Impressions

The game’s visuals are quite nice to look at. Like most porn games, it’s all pre-rendered. You won’t find the impressive fluid and physics simulations of Honey Select 2: Libido here, that’s for sure. However, the character models look great, and most animations feature minimal clipping, which has become a major gripe for me as I notice it more and more in these sorts of indie projects.

One thing to keep in mind is that the game is incredibly short. It’s fun for a bit, but replayability is almost non-existent. That’s something you’d like to consider, but, in my experience, the game is more than worth the quick playthrough, if only to see everything Aelin has to offer.
