MiSide

Anime girls – can't live without 'em, and according to MiSide, you probably wouldn't like living with 'em either. Don't let the rosy colors and the adorable Mita deceive you: MiSide is very much a horror game and one of the best ones I've played in a long while. At a time when most games embrace the concept of "analog horror," MiSide takes the basics of the idea and evolves them, turning it into something truly remarkable.

While not your average horror game, MiSide's unnerving atmosphere and gripping lore will keep you entertained for a while. Considering its deep lore (and how adorable Mita is) MiSide has all the markings of being a Five Nights at Freddy's in the making.

Anime Dreams Come True

Let's be honest, we've all had our video game waifus. After spending dozens of hours playing games like Persona 5 or Metaphor: ReFantazio, you inevitably start feeling emotionally invested in the lives of their digital denizens. Now, imagine you could spend the rest of, well, eternity with one of those characters. Suddenly, that sounds a bit less appealing, right?

That's the core concept behind MiSide. In this game, the main character gets transported to the world of his favorite video game, where he finally has a chance to meet his waifu, Mita. Unfortunately for him, Mita is not as adorable as she looks.

Idyllic Nightmare

Soon after arriving in Mita's world, you find out that, even though she looks like your waifu, she's actually a paranormal entity hellbent on trapping you within her realm. Why does she do that, and how many others have suffered the same fate? That's for you to find out.

MiSide is divided between casual minigames and complete survival horror madness. The daytime sees you playing the game as usual, taking care of Mita's needs, and discovering bits and pieces of lore around her house. At night, however, you'll have to evade Mita's clutches, as she'll try to capture you in the dark hallways of your rose-colored prison.

Outstanding Design

MiSide is more than just a great horror game. The fact that the small team of developers managed to create something so genuinely unnerving and amazingly engaging is nothing short of extraordinary. I've played games with ten times the budget of MiSide that can't even reach the tension and atmosphere this game has in its first five minutes alone.

Perhaps the reason why MiSide has found so much support among fans is the fact that it delivers on many of the promises made by the infamous Yandere simulator. Mita is an amazing character in her own right, but the fact that you slowly discover just how twisted she is adds another layer of immersion that makes this experience worth it so much more.

The way the fear escalates as you discover more of Mita's world is done exceptionally well. Also, the fact that the team is so clearly in love with the project promises that this game will only get better with age.

MiSide is an erotic simulator with elements of horror, which tells about a strange game and no less strange situation that happened to one ordinary player. The lonely protagonist wanted to take care of someone all his life. However, all his desires became a pipe dream because of his reclusive lifestyle. The formidable landlady of the apartment did not allow even animals to keep and so the hero turned to the help of modern technology. True, after downloading the application, he found himself in someone else's apartment, and the virtual girl who needed care is sitting next to him.
