Oh boy, do we have an interesting game to talk about here today. The Price Of Flesh is a lewd visual novel that is heavily aimed at those who are into horror and survival situations, and some BDSM as well. That right there tells you what kind of thing you are in for, and if you are easily shocked and offended, let me do you a solid and tell you that this game is not for you. However, if you get a kick out of games that have a more brutal side to them, this could be worth checking out, as some of the stuff here did shock me.

Three Is Company

The story of The Price Of Flesh is something that I am going to try to skate around, as I don't want to spoil anything. Basically, the game takes place in a pretty horrific world, and we are an object that is up for sale. There are three ways that we can be sold: two guys in Mason and Derek, and a woman in Celia. Let me say, Celia is the way to go as she is one of the best female villains that I have ever come across in a lewd visual novel. The story is more about survival, torture, and just straight-up murder than it is sex, but I found myself very intrigued about what was going on.

Choose Your Path

As I said, The Price Of Flesh is a lewd visual novel; the developer refers to the game as a kind of choose your own adventure thing, but that and a lewd visual novel are the same thing. You know the aim of the game if you are reading this. You follow the story, and then you get to make some choices. To be fair, I feel that the storytelling for the woman route is very well done, the two guy routes are a bit more sadistic and shocking. However, I feel that the Celia route just has more substance to it, and I found myself pretty hooked on what was going on with her, as I said, she truly was a fantastic addition.

Wait…. I Am Dead???

There is one area of the game that I think will make or break this for people, and that is the deaths. The Price Of Flesh does not screw around, and this is a game that is really a trial-and-error exercise. It is so easy to die when you make a decision in this game, forcing you to reload a save. Some people hate this, but I kind of liked it; it meant that my decisions had some real consequences for them; of course, it did mean I was also having to read the same bits of text over and over again, as I died a lot. However, I did not have a problem with it. Yet, at the same time, I fully understand why, for some people, this would be something that is very frustrating.

The Red Stuff

While The Price Of Flesh is a lewd visual novel, there are certainly some sex scenes in the game. I would say that, for the most part, this is more about the violence and torture than it is hardcore sex. If this kind of thing makes you squeamish, do not play the game, as it is not scared to get pretty hardcore and gory. The art in general is very impressive; it is like you are playing through a high end and very dark adult graphic novel, and I found myself really liking many of the character designs and the cool and very well drawn backgrounds that made up this horrific world that the game was set in.

Pros:

• Celia is a wonderful main villain
• The storyline is dark and pretty brutal
• If you love hardcore torture horror, you will get a kick out of this
• I was very impressed with the graphic novel style visuals

Cons:

• The trial-and-error nature of the gameplay may be frustrating for some
• Some of the stuff here is pretty messed up!

The Price Of Flesh is a psychological survival horror where you have to escape in a variety of conditions. The hero wakes up in a strange place and has no idea where he is. A scary human trafficking auction sells the hero to one of the three antagonists and so begins a journey into the world of the hunt, where ordinary people are the target.

Pros of the game:

• Not only the hero's life, but also the lives of other victims may depend on your choices
