Palworld

Palworld brings new breath to the world of pocket monsters and creature sidekicks. The game is very similar to another in the genre, known around the world, yet the key differences are so ridiculous you won’t have any trouble determining which is which. With a scheduled release date of sometime in 2022 this game will not only surprise you but make you reconsider what you thought of the genre and which games fall into what place. While the trailer starts off how you would typically imagine, you are quickly confronted with the wildest version of this world where your ‘Pal’ is not only a friend and battle-creature, but also a means of labour, food and more. Its clear what developers were aiming to do with this game, create a more adult focused world in which the evils of man have corrupted how we see and utilize our Pal’s.

Shocking Aspects

Did you ever wonder while playing games such as Pokémon what our world would be like if Pokémon actually existed? Well with Palworld you need not wonder any more.

Your character is immersed in a world where Pal’s can be befriended and used to battle in various situations, as well as used for exploring the sky and sea in the more friendly aspects of the game. Where fans will be shocked is when you realize there are far more functions available to use your Pal with, such as putting them to work or even slicing them up for dinner when you need to consumer energy.

Another bold difference between Palworld and similar games in the genre is the use of guns by your character. You can hunt, attack others or defend yourself and your pal with the use of automatic weapons. This may not be the next game you purchase for your children who may be fans of the genre, yet for those mature fans who have always been curious it might be the right game for you.

Storyline

The game is meant to be a slower-paced happy going open world experience, in which the pal’s you collect can be used for a lot more than just battling others. This is a crafting, creation style game where you and your pals maintain farming and other creations which you build.

Harsh weather is described throughout the game as well and will no doubt affect your health as well as your food stores. The storyline is uncertain as of right now, but we do know the villains throughout the game are vicious poachers who roam the world looking to kill or capture as many pals as possible.

Pros:

• The animations and graphic design looks well done and has already grasped the attention and curiosity of those who may have overlooked the game without.
• Clearly a very creative and unique take on the genre which we have scarcely seen in the past.

Cons:

• While adding the shocking elements such as automatic weapons and consuming you ‘pals’ this game may go too far in terms of creating an overall enjoyable experience for long term play.
