Survival games are getting trendy, that’s not a lie. Everyone sees them as a real challenge that will make people spend countless days crafting, hunting, exploring, and running away from danger. This is exactly what Odludzie is about, as the game will make you use your survival instinct to hang on in the subcarpathian forest.

A Pilot Trying to Survive

Most survival games don’t get deep into a story and instead throw the player into the action with a small context of how did they land on a deserted place. This is not the case with Odludzie.

Let’s get back to the ’80s. You are a glider pilot flying over the Carpathian Mountains when your glider has a critical failure due to harsh weather conditions. You lose control and the ship crashes with some tall trees, making the glider fall. As you wake up, you realize you are in a forest full of wildlife but without a sign of human life. Your radio is broken and now you have to explore the zone while trying to survive to find someone that can help you.

The game will follow the story and has two different endings (depending on the player’s playstyle and their decisions). Having some context about our character and how did he end up in a survive-or-die situation is always a great thing to have.

Building, Hunting, and Adapting

Odludzie is different than the rest of the survival games out there because it feels real. It feels like it can happen to you; you aren’t superhuman and instead, you have to learn how to hunt and build to have a chance to survive.

In Odludzie, you’ll have to hunt for your food, build your own shelter and swim, climb, and run to survive. But that’s not all, as you’ll have to keep your survivor fit if you want to run away from danger or chase prey, as if you don’t keep him in a good condition, it’ll be very hard for you to have a long game.

Also, do you want a weapon? Craft it. Do you want to create a campfire? Well, you’ll have to find sticks and stones to create it. Do you want to have a comfy sleep? Build a shelter! Nothing here will be easy to find!

It’ll Not Be Easy

Odludzie stands out against other survival games like Minecraft or The long Dark because of all the conditions you’ll have to face to survive. The most important one out of these is the weather conditions; they are important because they change the gameplay a lot.

Running in the forest during rain is way harder than doing it during a sunny day, and there will be different animals during a storm or during a foggy day; your survival chances will highly depend on what you do with the resources you’ll have.

How events will change depending on your actions and what items will help you survive in an ever-changing environment - find out by looking into a lonely stronghold among the dense forest of the Carpathians.

Survive Alone

The plot and developments are similar to the famous The Forest. The protagonist's glider falls into the thicket of the Polish part of the Carpathian Mountains. The only survivor, with no communication and no chance of finding even one living soul, is left to his certain death in the cold, dark forest among the mountains. Finding a way to survive and get out of the ill-fated forest is the only goal.

Conditions are close to reality

In the forest it is necessary to survive, this is not a construction simulator and not Minecraft, where you can only focus on resupply and killing monsters. In Odludzie, the protagonist is quite a living person and in addition to building a roof over your head the game sets goals such as:

• Finding drinkable water
• Finding food
• Learning the properties of herbs in case you need medicine
• Mastering the skills to make weapons and building tools

Where does the long journey lead?

The game has a story, although the main genre is still survival. The game will have two endings and the ending depends solely on the player. Explore the forest, build temporary camps, eat by hunting and gathering. Fight off attacks from wild beasts and weather the weather with the hapless hiker in the mountains.
