Rooftops & Alleys: The Parkour Game is the game I never knew that I wanted! A good buddy of mine turned me onto this and I am so glad that they did as this is freaking amazing. It is crazy to me that this is all the work of just one guy! The game is in early access right now, but I feel that the game is still worth purchasing as more content is coming. I feel like what we have here is more of a demo than anything else, but I also want the game to get more content which is why I decided to support it.
Tony Hawk, Matt Hoffman, And Now This
That is right, the best comparison I can give to Rooftops & Alleys: The Parkour Game is something like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 or Matt Hoffman’s Pro BMX. To be honest, I have more people comparing the game to Skate 3 than anything else. Anyway, you catch my drift of the kind of experience you can expect here. I have never been a parkour guy, but I love stuff like Mirror's Edge and this game actually reminds me of a game called Wakeboarding Unleashed: Featuring Shaun Murray. I had no interest in wakeboarding, but due to the “Tony Hawk” nature of the game, I tried it and loved it.
Cause I’m Free Running
Nice little Tom Petty reference for you there. to Rooftops & Alleys: The Parkour Game is a free running parkour game where the point is to just run. You have a few basic missions that you can do, but the bulk of what you will be doing in the build of the game that is available as I write this is trying to get a high score. You do this by pulling off all kinds of epic tricks and taking risks jumping off and onto stuff. The controls already feel pretty damn solid and I had no trouble pulling off tricks and doing huge combos. It is a tad on the easy side right now so I do think it needs to be balanced a bit better. I managed to find an exploit where I did this backflip type thing over and over again and my score went through the roof. However, this is an early access game and the developer seems to know exactly what they are going for here.
Feels Good
We go from a Tom Petty reference to a Tony! Toni! Toné! Reference I am pretty confident in saying that there is no other review on the planet that has done this. Anyway, the best thing I can say about to Rooftops & Alleys: The Parkour Game is that the game feels so good to play. Going back to the TH series, I can fire up Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4 and just have a fun time screwing around, skating, and pulling off random tricks because the game feels so good to play. Even though this game is not yet finished, I feel that the groundwork has been done perfectly. It is the kind of game I love to just fire up and run around and blow off a little steam with.
Gimme Some More
Might as well close this out with another musical reference, this time some 90s Busta Rhymes. Rooftops & Alleys: The Parkour Game so far is very lacking in content. There are a couple of maps to run around on, but they are a tad on the small side, I feel like they need to be just a wee bit bigger if you get what I am saying. There is also not a great deal to do just yet, I did touch on this before, you have some challenges where you need to run through these rings (do not worry it is not like Superman 64!) and that is all there really is right now. I am excited to see what the developer has in store in terms of more missions and modes. I did see someone suggest a mode where you have to chase another player, I think that this sounds like an amazing idea!
Even though Rooftops & Alleys: The Parkour Game is in early access, there is more than enough here to see that this is something very special. I think that this is such a great idea for a game and if you enjoy games like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, Skate 3, and Mirror’s Edge, I am pretty certain that you will like this game. This is one of the most surprising games that I have had the pleasure of playing this year. I am giving it a final score, but I think this could go as high as a 9 or a 9.5 once more content has been added.
Pros:
- The controls feel great
- Pulling off tricks feels so satisfying
- Even in early access, you can tell this is going to be epic
- Getting a high score is very addictive
Cons:
- It does need to be balanced a bit better
- At the moment there is not much content in the game

Game Reviews
Rooftops & Alleys: The Parkour Game is a simulation of the most reckless and brave man, whose personal exploits often make passers-by twist their fingers. Welcome to the most realistic parkour simulator. However, realism ends at the physics of jumping and climbing walls, because not every day you can turn into a full-fledged pigeon. That's right, get to hard-to-reach but damn cool places on the wings of a pigeon. An entire city is available for mastering jumps and practicing cool tricks. Conquer the walls and become a local ruf legend.
Pros of the game:
- Ability to transform into a pigeon and fly around the city
- Open city world for free parkour
- Realistic jumping physics
