Big Brother: Another Story

From what I gather what we have here with Big Brother: Another Story is some kind of remake or enhanced version of another lewd game that was released a little while back. I had never played it before so I thought this “new” version was probably the best way for me to experience it. What drew me to this game was that it promised a mixture of gameplay styles. It was said to have a visual novel, sandbox, and RPG style of gameplay and I thought that did make this sound very interesting.

All In The Family

The story that Big Brother: Another Story is trying to tell is kind of a corruption story. We play as a guy who is from a family that does not have a lot of money. Max (the brother) lives with his mom and two sisters and they are pretty poor. Their luck changes one day when Max’s estranged father gives them a massive and fancy house to live in. From here Max tries to just get what he wants from the rest of the family and you all know what that leads to!

No matter what I am going to say about the gameplay of Big Brother: Another Story, I cannot deny that the character renders here are fantastic. It goes for a more realistic kind of look with its characters and the mom along with the two sisters (and other characters) do all look great. I think that the visuals are probably the best thing about this game and while there are some nice XXX scenes, I would bet that most people will not see many of them at all which is a real shame.

Mixing Styles Could Make Something Great

As I said in the intro, Big Brother: Another Story is a game that mixes different gameplay styles. You of course have the visual novel aspect where you have to read the story and make choices to move it in a particular direction. However, you also have a sandbox game world where you have to click around and go to various places. Then there are the RPG style elements too such as money management.

Click, Click, BOOM!

The gameplay of Big Brother: Another Story is some of the most tedious gameplay I have ever come across in a lewd game. The grind here is just unbelievable, the amount of clicking or waiting that you have to do to move things along is insane! One of the first things you get to do is build a website to make money, but the number of steps and time that this requires is just crazy. It is like everything you do in this game to take one step forward, requires you to take three back first and it gets very frustrating right from the start.

I do think that there is a good game somewhere in Big Brother: Another Story and perhaps I am just too impatient to really stick it through.

Pros:

• I do think that the premise of the story is interesting
• The main female characters look great
• I appreciate they tried to have a good mixture of gameplay styles
• If you played the original version, you may get more out of this

Cons:

• This is the grindiest lewd game I have ever played
• It asks way too much time investment from the player, for very little payoff
