Is there a more awesome game name than Shag the Hag? I got a real chuckle the first time I heard the title and I knew it was a game that I had to play. This was before I even knew what the hell kind of game this was. Well, as you have figured out, it is a lewd game and it is one with a supernatural element that is pretty awesome. I also liked how the game did not take itself too seriously.

A Hag In The Woods

The whole premise of Shag the Hag is that our “hero” wants to be with the woman that he loves. However, the town he lives in is under the spell of this evil witch like being that lives in the wood, and if he wants to actually be able to be with the woman that he loves he has no choice, but to shag the hag if you know what I am saying!

Supernatural Ladies In The Woods

There is a decent selection of women in the game, the “hag” is pretty grotesque, to be honest with you, but there are some amazing looking other sexy beings in the game. The whole game has a great look and I am a huge fan of the twisted nightmare almost Tim Burton style visuals of the game. I will say that some of the scenes verge on being more creepy than sexy, but it is certainly an interesting look. One area that the game is really lacking is in the sound department. There is no sound in the game and that can actually make it even more creepy!

How Much Courage Does A Guy Need?

While I think there is something fun here with Shag the Hag, I think that the game would have been all the better for being a straight up visual novel rather than the style of game they went for. There is plenty of visual novel elements where you read and you then get to make decisions, however, there is a stat grinding aspect for the game that goes a bit too far in my opinion. For example, you have a courage stat and in the first chapter of the game, you have to replay the first scene at least three times to get the courage stat up so the guy does not run away from the woods. It feels like padding out the game to artificially make it longer.

I think that there is something good here with Shag the Hag and while I complained about the stat grinding, I will admit that it did not turn me off so much that I stopped playing the game entirely. The premise is pretty cool, I like the supernatural/horror story that the game has and the way it is not being all serious is something that I found fun. if you like a bit of creepiness with your lewd games, be sure to give this game a try.
