God Eater Online

I have had a lot of fun with this series and when I heard that God Eater Online was going to be bringing the series to mobile devices, I was all in. Now granted, to play this as I write this you have to get an APK file online, but I do think it is worth it. It is such a shame this game never took off more as it is one of the better mobile games that has been released based on a console/handheld game in my opinion.

Destroy The Aragami!

If you have played any of the other God Eater games you will appreciate the story here. It is actually set after the events of God Eater 2 Rage Burst which is pretty cool. There are a bunch of Aragami (which are monsters) that are starting to reappear and you need to be part of a team that is trying to stop them and find out why they have started to come back!

For a mobile game, the story is very well done and God Eater Online does actually feature some high-quality cut scenes that do move the story along. The story is cool in that it follows on from a previous game, but I also feel like it is easy for a newcomer to get into.

Is This Real? Or Is This Just Fantasy?

The visuals are very impressive I know we live in a day and age where a mobile phone can cost twice the price of a games console, but the graphics on mobile games just keep getting better and better. I would say that the visuals on offer in God Eater Online fall between the God Eater games for the PSP and the games for the PlayStation Vita. There are some really cool Aragmi designs for you to fight here. The levels are a tad barren, but the game moves so fast, you do not really have the time to focus on the areas!

Be Your Own Hero

The character creation aspect of the game is pretty cool. You can pick which gender you want to be, but from there you have a ton of different options so you can be the ultimate virtual representation of yourself. As you would expect, as you progress through the game getting new gear for your character and your weapon is a huge part of the game and what will drive you to keep on playing.

God Eater With Friends

God Eater Online is an MMO and while these days the amount of people playing it online is going to be hard to judge. The overall gameplay that they did here is great stuff. You play with a virtual joystick on the left side of your screen and then on the right side you have all of your action buttons. It is a system that works pretty well and they have closely replicated the God Eater games that we had on PS4, PSP and PS Vita as well as they could here.

It plays like a hack and slash game and the idea is that you need to kill tons of monsters to get better gear. The better the gear you have, the better a chance you have when it comes to fighting the game's bosses.

It may seem like mindless stuff, but it is fun. Sadly, as far as I can tell it is no longer officially supported, but there is a dedicated community that has kept this alive.

• It has very close to the console games presentation
