Latex Tentacles

While I may not be a big tentacle guy, I am a big latex guy so Latex Tentacles was something that did appeal to me. This is a very insane kind of game and features all kinds of more extreme fetishes. Of course, tentacles are here as it is in the title, but there is mind control, domination, futa’s, and a bunch of slimy alien tentacle creatures all slithering around looking for the ultimate pleasure! There are certainly some neat ideas here and it is very stylish and I think with just a little more work, this could end up being something really special.

Sliming Your Way Around Your Lair

The story of Latex Tentacles is all over the freaking place. Basically, we play as this tentacle creature and our sole goal is to corrupt pretty much everyone and everything that we come into contact with. Hey, we do not discriminate, if someone or something walks into our lair, they are more than fair game to be caught, mind-controlled, and corrupted by us! As far as I can tell, this game came out a couple of years ago and there still does not appear to be a whole lot done as far as the story goes.

Setting The Immersion

Now this may seem weird, but I want to take a moment to specifically talk about the UI of Latex Tentacles. On one hand, the UI takes up a big chunk of the screen and I can see this being a problem for some people. However, the UI looks freaking awesome! It is hard to explain, but the idea is that it is the actual tentacles that your character has are wrapped around the screen. It is such a cool effect and I can honestly not think of another lewd game that has the UI displayed the way that this game does. It kind of reminds me of the way that some older games like Kirby or even something like The Last Ninja would have the UI taking up a portion of the screen.

Slapping 2D On 3D

The gameplay of Latex Tentacles is quite interesting and I bet with the heading here you thought I was going to be talking more about the graphics. This is an action RPG where you have to try and defeat enemies, mind control them, and then have them be an ally for you. There is a skill tree and in general, I felt that there was a good sense of progression in the game. The trouble is that the game uses these what are gorgeous looking 2D sprites on a 3D background and this is a major problem with the combat. It can be very hard to judge where you are in relation to the enemy, meaning that it is so easy to misplace an attack. It is not even just ranged attacks either, I had a hard time getting lined up to do a melee attack. The game does have a tutorial, but it is very short and kind of just throws you in at the deep end. What I am getting at here is that this is the kind of game that requires a lot of time and patience from the player to get the best out of it.

Slime In All The Right Places

One thing that is awesome about Latex Tentacles is the character designs. I am not a tentacle guy at all when it comes to XXX stuff, but I can still appreciate it when it is done well and it is certainly done very well here! This is a fantastic looking game and I love the way that the characters have this kind of slimy look to them. Sure, I may not find it hot, but it is still really cool looking. Some of the characters have a kind of monster girl thing going on and they give me a kind of Darkstalkers vibe. I will say that I did feel like I was seeing the same animations a great deal so I am not sure exactly how many XXX scenes are actually in the game.

Pros:

• This is great if you are a fan of tentacles
• The slimy look of everything was cool
• I really like what they did with the UI
• If you can get to grips with the combat, this will be a damn fine action RPG

Cons:

• Lining up attacks was way too hard
• I felt like I saw the same lewd animation over and over again
