Niplheim’s Hunter - Branded Azel is a story about a girl who gets her body branded with lewd symbols by an evil demon monster who she must now find and destroy to end her curse. Helping her throughout her journey is the player taking on the role of a trusty blacksmith. The story overall is decent, if a bit on the simple side and should do enough to keep your adventure filled with flavor if only for the time it takes you to finish the game.
The game is a pretty standard RPG in terms of what you can do and what your objectives are. You can fight monsters, level up as well as craft and collect new tools and outfits. Outfits are pretty cool in that you can actually see you character sprites change when you switch to a new one, even during conversations.
You can also use one armor for its stats while equipping a second one as a costume so you can always have the look you want regardless of what might be best for each level of the game. A much appreciated feature for a game that focuses on visual appeal such as this.
The game, similar to various entries in the Sakura series, mostly revolves around doing RPG quests and battles with kinky erotic scenes scattered throughout. A pretty entertaining game that prides itself on doing its best to be an actual fully fledged game and not just a shallow experience that uses porn as a crutch instead of a feature. The game isn’t very long though and will take you around 6 hours to complete which is a bit disappointing but not unreasonable considering the game’s lower market cost and budget. A satisfying experience that is well worth your time and effort to complete.
Audio & Ambiance
The music and soundtrack are pretty good with plenty of catchy tunes that provide a great backdrop to the game’s fun adventure. The voice acting is surprisingly well done and will help draw you in to the entertaining story and erotic fan service. The visuals are of course the true highlight as each character, location and sexual position are drawn with beautiful detail that is sure to arouse and satisfy all those who play this game for its naughty promise of kinky sex with pretty anime girls. Definitely the game’s strongest suit, as it very well should be.
There is also plenty of variety in terms of fetishes and activities covered to make sure that your tastes can be sated no matter how weird or extreme they may be. Softer content is of course also included too. You’ll need a separate download to access this content though as the base game is censored.
Niplheim's Hunter - Branded Azel is a game that is certain to keep your sexual thirst satisfied while also making sure to earn its worth in the gameplay department; all backed by great art and sound.

Today I am checking out Niplheim's Hunter which is a very interesting hentai/RPG that has quite the history. Did you know that before this game was released it was deemed too inappropriate and Steam asked for a character to be removed? It is an interesting story and worth checking out. Before that though, take a look at what I thought as I spent some time in this crazy fantasy world.
You Branded Me!
The story in the game took me by surprise. I came for the hentai, but I stayed for the story is what a friend of mine said and I can see many doing the same thing. The basics of the story are that you play as a warrior called, Azel. She is a hunter and an evil beast branded her. Now she is out for revenge and to take down all the monsters and save the day. I know that this sounds like a very generic kind of plot for an RPG, but the story unfolds in some very interesting ways and I was certainly invested.
The game does have two different endings that you can experience so there is some replay value here. It also lets you skip a ton of stuff too, but I am not sure what the point in that actually is.
Pretty, But Pixelated
The art style of Niplheim's Hunter is very interesting to talk about. The game has a top down point of view and I like the world that has been created here. From the bars where you can get missions, buy stuff and chat with people to the mysterious parts of this land where danger is around every corner. I fee that they have done a good job with the visuals here. When you are in a battle, the game has a 2D point of view and here you see some amazing artwork.
The problem is the game is kind of “low res” all around. That is not to say it is bad looking, far from it. It just feels like there is some kind of filter on that is making the game look a tad less polished than you feel it should. The hentai scenes which are free by the way with a patch, look great as you would expect.
Questing And Crafting
I am not going to lie and say that Niplheim's Hunter is changing the game when it comes to RPGs. However, this is a well made and fun game to play through. The turn-based combat is easy to get to grips with. The grinding and looting so that I could craft awesome new armor was very addictive for me, but I can see some people thinking that in this regard the grind is a tad too much. There are plenty of quests to go on and there are lots of people you can chat with and of course, get it on with as well.
I enjoyed my time with this game. It is the kind of game that when you talk about it, it really does not sound all that remarkable. However, I found Niplheim's Hunter to be a very interesting game and a game that I played all the way through. If you want a solid fantasy-based RPG with some hentai sprinkled on top, you could do a heck of a lot worse than this.
Final Score: 8.5/10
