As I write this The Awakening is not 100 percent finished. There is a prologue to the game that I would suggest you check out before jumping into the real thing. This is a game that is funded via Patreon and that seems to be making people mad as they are paying a monthly fee, but there is no end in sight for the game. I would say that if this is a lewd game you are interested in, you are best just paying one month, playing it, and then coming back if you like it or if there is a substantial update.
It’s All Coming Back To Me Now
The story being told in The Awakening is all over the place. The premise is actually pretty cool in that you have awoken from a coma and you have a bit of a split personality going on. You can be nice and kind as you try to charm the ladies or you can try and corrupt them and be a bit of a jerk.
I thought that the whole “Jekyll and Hyde thing the story had going on was pretty interesting, but the choices you make to move the story can often feel like they do not matter. You may try to play him as a good dude, but sometimes it is like the game throws the choices you make out of the window.
Clicking Around Town
The gameplay on offer here is ok for the most part. It is mostly a visual novel style of game, but The Awakening does also have a bit of a point-and-click adventure-style thing going on to. You can use your phone to do things and when you have the screen that has all the ladies on it. It will say stuff like, Linda is waiting for you at the coffee shop to give you a nudge in the right direction.
The problem with the gameplay is that it is just so slow and boring. Sometimes you can go to an area 10 times and there will be nothing there for you to interact with. It moves at a very slow pace and I can see many people getting bored, but there is one thing this game has going for it and it is a biggie!
Stars In Their Eyes
The presentation of The Awakening is some of the best that I have ever seen in a lewd game. Seriously, this is one of the best-looking “realistic” lewd games I have ever played. The character models in this game are phenomenal and the animation is also fantastic and looks and feels very natural. The reason that I have stuck with this game as long as I have is for the visuals, they really are that good!
I was also very impressed with how they had actual voice acting in this game. The sound design is rather minimal, but I give them a ton of credit for having voice acting that is of a very high quality.
I was very impressed with the presentation of The Awakening. Seriously I would say that it is worth playing this game for the visuals alone. The gameplay and story may be lacking, but those amazing sex scenes are more than worth playing the game for. I am not sure I would say it is worth paying a monthly fee for. However, dipping your toe in this world is certainly something I would recommend you consider doing.
Pros:
- This game looks great
- It has many awesome and sexy looking ladies
- The sex scenes are animated and look fantastic
- There is voice acting and it is very good quality
Cons:
- The gameplay is very lackluster
- The story never feels like it makes sense

Game Reviews
Let’s start off with an obvious statement. No one wants to get hit by a car. I think we can say that with some confidence. However, if you were to find yourself in front of a speedy piece of metal, fall into a coma and wake up two years later with absolutely no memory of who you are or what you’re doing on this earth. It would be assumed that this would be a nightmare but in The Awakening, it is perhaps the new lease of life that you’ve always needed.
This game plays like a number of games within the adult genre, with gameplay that focuses heavily on player choices, navigation of a mini-map and interacting with characters and objects to push on the narrative. While a lot of games will rely heavily on their narrative to drive the game forward, this title uses a range of slick 3D rendered images to complement this storyline. So that’s exactly where we will begin, with the presentation of this game.
Raunchy Realism
This game has a presentation that serves the format very well. The game tells its story through a series of very high definition images which in some cases look identical to real-life itself. The characters models are very well designed with hair, facial structure and clothing all looking very detailed with varied textures, adding to the realism of the game and immersion of the player.
The environments also look flawless in this game, with some textures that make the game look like an image taken from a camera. The downside to the overall presentation, however, is the smaller assets and the in-world props such as vehicles and inanimate objects. These often seem to have less detail and more smudged textures than other in-game assets that can take the player out of the experience. Overall though, its a very classy looking game.
A fun concept
The game’s storyline, while starting on a rather morbid tone, picks up rather quickly and turns into a rather light-hearted path to discovery. As you don’t know who you are, this story allows you to piece together your past while making a new life in the present. The stories writing is also pretty good to support this fun concept. The writer has the ability to deliver a variety of scenes that build characters, create tension, help to form a bond with characters and the player and when the time comes for more intimate moments, the game delivers these without falling into the common trap of hyperbole or ridiculousness.
Easy and Accessible
What you want from a game like this is a control scheme that is simple, easy to understand immediately and allows the narrative and visuals to take centre stage. In The Awakening, this is indeed the case. The control scheme is simple, the navigation between different areas is easy to grasp. The UI when entering dialogue or otherwise is great and at no point in time does it ever intrude on the core gameplay.
It’s like sexy amnesia
This game, although a little farfetched and silly at times, really does have a lot going for it. Whether you’re talking about the great visuals, the apt sound design, the solid narrative and characters or the simple but effective UI. This game is a very serviceable adult title that tells a good story and delivers on a very fun concept. If you’re into these types of games, this one is certainly one to put on your watch list.
Pros
- Nice visuals
- Simple controls
- Good storyline
- Great UI
Cons
- Objects within the game can have inconsistent textures.
- The storyline isn’t firmly set in reality.
