The Legend of the Hero of Edoriam

Most RPG adventures play by the numbers: the hero gets a call to action, embarks on an epic journey, defeats the big bad, roll credits. That’s great and all, but where’s the spice in it? There’s so much you can do with the hero’s journey before it becomes a chore rather than an odyssey. The Legend of the Hero of Edoriam is the answer to the ages’ old question of how to make RPGs fun again; the answer is sex, of course.

With a stunning balance between smut and classic RPG mechanics, The Legend of the Hero of Edoriam manages to keep things more interesting than what you’d find in your average porn game. This is great for those players looking for a “challenge,” even if their games are more HuniePop and less Elden Ring.

A Kingdom to Tame

When the ancient kingdom of Edoriam succumbs to darkness, humanity must attempt to bring it back from the ashes through ancient legends. That’s the main backstory that developer Pyrthenix injected into The Legend of the Hero of Edoriam. Surprisingly, there’s a healthy amount of lore to discover, should you ignore the scantily clad heroines, that is.

The game follows the classic mechanics you’d expect from an RPG. It should come as no surprise: the game was made using RPG Maker MV, after all. However, the developer managed to make the game a bit more “appealing” by using 3D character models for some intimate scenes. That alone should make the game leagues more explicit than something like Fear & Hunger – and definitely not as disturbing.

Voluptuous Adventurers

While the game only features a handful of characters at the moment, they’re all designed in a way that should be more than appealing for anime fans. On the other hand, I would have liked to see a bit more variety in body types and character designs – though I would never object to more buxom ladies in any game.

There’s also the fact that the developer has one clear inclination when it comes to fetishes, and that might be the biggest downside of The Legend of the Hero of Edoriam. Netorase plays a key role in most sex scenes. Whether you enjoy that or not will determine how much you like playing this game.

Fortunately, the developer has expressed his interest in including even more fetishes as the game’s development progresses. The Legend of the Hero of Edoriam has the potential to include all sorts of depraved fantasies, so we’ll have to wait and see if we end up getting more “general” content in future updates.

Beyond the Fantasies

I was surprised to find that, even when you take all the sex out of the equation, The Legend of the Hero of Edoriam remains a rather competent RPG experience. I mean, sure, the game is all about boning cute girls, but the lore and characters pull you into its well-crafted fantasy world.

It might not have the polish of games like Undertale or any Final Fantasy, but you can see that the developer loves classic RPGs. If you want a porn game that feels more like a game and less like porn, The Legend of the Hero of Edoriam is the one you should get.
