One of the biggest shooters (or should I say looters?) of 2019 is Borderlands 3. This is a game that feels like it has taken forever to come out, but it is shaping up to be the perfect blend of what we all know and love about the Borderlands series as well as some really cool and exciting new features too. That is what we are looking at today, some of the reasons why so many people are hyped for Borderlands 3.
A Billion Guns For Everyone!
One of the most outlandish statements about Borderlands 3 is in terms of its firepower! It has been said that when you factor in every single little bit of customization that the game offers there are over a billion guns!
I am not sure about this, but What I am sure about is that just from what I have seen so far. This game features some of the most over the top and badass weapons of any first-person shooter. There is a gun that fires hamburgers for crying out loud!
Move Like A Pro
While I have loved all of the previous Borderlands games. Movement is a little “basic” in comparison to what other first-person shooters offer. Borderlands 3 is kicking things up a notch by allowing you to slide and mantle as well. This may not sound like a big deal to you if you have not played the other games in the series.
For those of us though who have played the other games. Being able to move like this is actually going to make the overall gameplay a very different kind of experience. It is one of the changes that I am both excited for a tad nervous about as well.
Hey, That Is My Loot!
A huge part of the fun of Borderlands is getting as much loot as you can. Gearbox has come up with a clever way of preventing you from getting screwed over by a random player or even having a buddy who is super greedy. They are calling this loot instancing and it is going to dish loot out at a fairer rate. This is a change that I think will make the overall experience more fun as it could be very annoying when you were playing with people, did a lot of work and they get most of the good stuff.
It is worth noting that you can turn loot instancing off if you like. This is actually true of another feature in the game. The leveling up system will make it so high-level players get taken down a peg or two if they are playing with less skilled players. This is another new feature which you can turn on or off depending on your play style.
If you are a fan of first-person shooters, Borderlands 3 simply has to be one that you play. Few games offer as much fun as this series does and this game looks to be taking things to a whole new level. Gearbox has managed to make something that appeals to long-time fans of the series as well as those who have yet to play a game in the franchise.
