Catch a Lover

With a name like Catch a Lover, you are probably sure that this is a lewd visual novel game. That is not the case at all, instead what we have here is a funny as hell multiplayer game where a cheating wife and her lover are trying to avoid a husband and his dog. It is very low budget, very silly, and a ton of fun when you play with your friends.

To Catch A Cheater

The story of the game is that your wife has a lover that she loves banging way more than her husband. Her husband has an idea that something is going on and he is out to try and capture his wife’s lover before he can get out of the house.

The premise of Catch a Lover is pretty funny and the game certainly does not take itself too seriously. Those of you looking for a deeper narrative may be a tad disappointed as that is all there is. To be fair, this is a multiplayer game and those tend to have a rather bare-bones story so it is a bit harsh to be too down on this game for its lack of storytelling.

Buzz, Your Girlfriend… Woof!

I have to say that the weakest aspect of Catch a Lover is the visuals. This is one very rough-looking game; I would probably go as far as to say that this looks like a PlayStation 2 game! It is not horrible looking or anything like that, but it has a very low-budget kind of vibe to the presentation. The character models are passable and they have decent enough animation, but this game is not exactly going to make you say wow with the visuals. Also, it is worth noting that those of you looking for a ton of XXX content may be disappointed as while the premise is “lewd” the execution is not XXX like you may be hoping for. Also, the UI is pretty damn rough too, the whole game needs a good coating of polish if I am being honest.

The Awesome Foursome

As I have said a few times, Catch a Lover is a multiplayer game it is for 2 to 4 players, but to get the best out of this game you have to play with three other players and you all need your mics on. One player plays as the husband. He is prowling the house looking for the lover and he is going to put a beat down on him. Another player plays as the lover who is trying to find his clothes and get the hell out of the house. Another player gets to play as the wife who is trying to help the lover. Then the final player plays as the dog… yes, the dog who tries to help the husband capture the lover.

This is a game that may be rough around the edges, but it is the kind of thing that is so much fun, you do not care. Playing as the dog is freaking weird as you can catch the lover's scent and alert the husband to where he is. There are lots of items in the house that can be used and these are randomly generated so each round can feel a bit different.

• This game is a blast with your buddies

• This game is rough in pretty much every regard
• You have to play with people you know to get the best out of this
