Catch Canvas

If you are on the lookout for a shorter visual novel, Catch Canvas could be just what you are looking for. This is a visual novel that may be light on content, but it is very heavy on fun. It features an interesting cast of characters, some witty writing, and some huge boobs that are pretty damn awesome. It may not be the kind of game you play over and over again, but it is a fun time while it lasts.

The Student Becomes The Teacher

In Catch Canvas, we get to play as either a male or female character that we get to name. You are heading to your uncle’s place as he is a famous artist and he is going to help you catch your big break. Once you arrive at his house, he is gone and instead there are three girls, Estelle, Dawn, and Nachan and these girls are his students. He has tasked them with a project and he wants you to make sure it gets done or there is no art exhibit for you!

These three girls each have their own personality and you can see where the story is going from a mile away. Still, it is a charming time and while it starts off slow, once the girls start to open up to you, you find yourself wanting to know more and more about them. The game also has three endings (one for each girl) to check out.

Boobs, Glorious Boobs!

This is not as XXX as you would think, the dialogue is very explicit, but the images you are seeing on the screen are not as in your face as you would think. Instead, Catch Canvas captures your attention with big boobs and these are awesome. I love how each girl not only has a different personality, but also a different style to the way she looks as well. The backgrounds are very well drawn too and fit the characters perfectly.

The game has a very nice soundtrack that I feel fits the CGs and images perfectly, but there is one major problem, no sound effects. I am not just talking about the lack of voice acting, there is no sound apart from music in this game at all and that feels rather strange.

The Art Of Three

As you have probably figured out by now, Catch Canvas is all about hooking up with the three students. The game lets you make various choices as you go which allows you to know the girls better. The thing is, the choices did feel a bit shallow until I got to the very end and had to pick a girl that I actually wanted to be with.

The game does not have much in the way of replay value, but it is well worth playing through it so that you see all of the endings. Plus, this is a rather short visual novel so it will not take up a great deal of your time.

• Each girl has her own look
• I liked how each girl also had a distinctive personality
• The writing was very witty and well done
• It has three different endings
• This is a visual novel that does not demand a ton of time from the player

Cons:

• The game has no sound effects at all!
• It may not be XXX enough for some people
