Hilda's Reward

We have all heard of a certain series involving a wide variety of pocket momsters. In fact, if you are interested in gaming at all, it can almost be difficult to avoid. The worldwide brand seeps into just about every aspect of popular culture. Such as anime, toys, merch, trading cards, gaming and surprisingly, also adult games. The girls of this series are very eye catching and this is the basis for the game, Hilda’s Reward.

This game plays like other popular video game adult parodies like Babysitting Cream, Busty Raider, Ass Effect, Final Fellatio X-2 and Pussymon. This game aims to offer some fan service for those that have always wanted to see the naughty side of the Pokemon girls. However, does this game give the fans everything the want? We find out in our review of Hilda’s Reward.

A Rewarding experience

Firstly, let’s begin with the art style of this game. The title decides to go for an art style that is true to the video games that the parody is based on. The visuals feel like they have been lifted straight from a Pokemon GBA title and this offers a great deal of nostalgia and authenticity. However, much like the Pokemon game was criticised at the time of release for being graphically behind the times, this game carries that same burden. So it’s a matter of preference.

As for the story, we have to say that it’s rather impressive. The writing is fantastic, the writers clearly have an interest and an understanding of the source material. So, as a result, the game feels like a genuine Pokemon style adventure. Only with much more sexual content and much more filtration with characters that you encounter.

While the art and story is excellent, the downside of this game is that this is essentially an interactive slideshow. The game will allow you to make choices but ultimately, there is nothing other than mechanics other than point and click to advance. There is no gimmicky Pokemon battles and no top down RPG elements that would elevate this experience to a whole new level and that is disappointing.

The Verdict

Overall, we have to say that Hilda’s Reward is a great concept and one that achieves in a lot of areas. However, it’s the absence of some content that is the most disappointing. We wish there was more actual gameplay here.

Pros:

• Retro, nostalgic art style
• Great writing
• Plenty of XXX content

Cons:

• Gameplay is minimal

I am always up for a lewd parody game and Hilda's Reward has a lot of charm and a lot of hotness about it. You can see all this has to offer in like five minutes, but instead of looking at that as a negative, I “choose” (you will see what I did there in a minute) to look at that as a positive. Far too many lewd games overstay their welcome these days so I love it when I come across a pallet cleanser style game like this where I can just have some fun for a little while before moving on to something bigger and more complex.

It's Not Always Black & White

What we have here with Hilda's Reward is a parody of Pokemon Black & White. This is probably my favorite generation of Pokémon and I remember back in the day going to the midnight launch to pick up my copy of Pokémon Black 2 and ended up getting hustled in the store to buy a bunch of Pokémon merch! I have not played many lewd Pokémon parodies that are based on this generation so this is something I got a kick out of, but this is not your typical lewd Pokémon game that is just a rom hack.

My Trainer

I think that it is kind of cool the way that the developer of Hilda's Reward was such a huge fan of Hilda (that was who I picked by the way) that they made this game about her. There is not much in the way of a story here, From what I gather Hilda is out on an adventure and ends up getting herself into a situation where she gets railed in pretty much every way she can! Still, I like that they made a little bit of effort to have something before we get to the actual game.

A Banging Simulator

There is not much in the way of gameplay here. What we have with Hilda's Reward is a sex simulator where we get to choose what kind of sex we want to have with Hilda. There are a few different positions that we can cycle through and watch her have a great time with. You can also dictate the speed and when you want to finish. I got a real kick out of the fact that it was Poke Balls you had to click on here in order to make that happen. It is little touches like that which make lewd games worth playing in my opinion.

The Right Generation

By far the best thing that Hilda's Reward has going for it is the amazing pixel art visuals. The shot of her in a Nicki Minaj style pose is so freaking hot and adorable all at the same time! The game has some much personality and the animation when she is getting banged is pretty awesome. Now, you can pretty much cycle through all of the sex animations in just a few minutes, but it is a lot of fun while it lasts. It is the kind of thing I could see myself firing up every now and again when I am bored or perhaps waiting for something to load.

Pros:

• Pokémon Black & White fans are sure to think this is fun
• Hilda’s XXX design is awesome
• I had fun with the game while it lasted
• The presentation is awesome and very charming, but also hot at the same time

Cons:

• There is not a lot to the game
• I do feel you have to be into Pokémon and like Hilda to appreciate this
