If you’re in any way a fan of gaming, you’ll know the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise. It’s one of the most successful series in gaming history. It’s spanned multiple decades and produced a wide range of games for many platforms. Though, unless you’re a fan of adult games as a genre, it is quite likely that this one went under your radar. This is an unlicensed Sonic game filled with seduction, sexual deviance and some babysitting in between. This is Babysitting Cream.
Gotta Go Fast
The main plot of this title revolves around you, Sonic The Hedgehog, being asked to babysit Cream, a popular side character from the series. This starts with good intentions of picking up a nice bit of change for your services but soon degenerates into a race against time to commit as many sexual acts in one play through as possible before her parents return. It wouldn’t be a Sonic game without a need for speed we guess.
The gameplay for this game is surprisingly deep and complex with the player having a number of considerations to take into account at once. You’ll have to resource manage with rings being the currency of choice. You’ll have to keep your relationship with Cream positive in order to do more sexual acts. You’ll have to manage your own energy levels and maintain stamina so that when the opportunity arises, you can rise too.
A Strange Art Direction
You would think that if you were going for a Sonic based title, you would go with one core art style. You either go cell-shaded, cartoon style or photorealism. Though we all remember how Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 faired doing that. Babysitting Cream decides to go for the latter with its environments being 3D rendered and realistic portrayals of a model home. While the character models and hand-drawn and cartoonish. This may be appealing to some but the contrast is something that is difficult to get used to and can really remove you from the experience. As two separate art styles, very good. Just not that cohesive together.
Run the numbers again
One issue that is commonly found within the game by players is the inconsistencies with the stats. While the deep statistics and mechanics of this game are much appreciated, they don’t always behave as they should. Actions that you should be able to action simply don’t work in some cases, leading to a much more restricted experience and can cause a good deal of frustration.
Amy doesn’t have to know
While this game does have some issues with its stats and for some will have an art style that is not cohesive and hard to adjust to. It’s fair to say that within the adult genre, this title does an awful lot more than its predecessors. It offers more interactivity than a lot of games on the market, it has replayability in spades, there is an overarching goal that a number of these titles lack and replayability value is very high.
Babysitting Cream delivers on everything that it promises to be. This is a game for fans of Sonic and adult games, a game for those who enjoy resource management games and a game for those of the furry community to enjoy. So if any of these things apply to you, be sure to give this one a try.
