I was surprised by the 2016 Hitman game and I was even more surprised that we got Hitman 2 just a couple of years later! While Hitman 2 does not reinvent the wheel that Hitman 2016 gave us. It does more than enough to make this the ultimate Hitman experience and I have a feeling that as the years go past, this will be looked at as one of the most underappreciated games of this generation.
Picking Up Where We Left Off!
I was not super into the story that the last Hitman game told, but I do feel that this one here is much, much better. It does follow up from the last game, but this time it is really more focused and I like that. Each of the eight chapters has their own feel, story, and targets for you and I think they did a great job in making you care about what is going down in each chapter.
What Is New?
Ok, so once again, you are playing as Agent 47 and you are tasked with taking own various targets in locations all over the world. What I like about Hitman 2 is that it just generally has more polish all around than its predecessor has. There is nothing that I would say is “groundbreakingly” new with this game, but it does more than enough to make it a much better experience.
For example, having a case that you can walk around within public so you can move larger weapons around without the public freaking out is very handy. Being able to make NPC’s who get in the way unconscious is also great and very handy for many of the more time-sensitive missions where the dumb NPC’s just get in the way. The game is just so much fun to play and I loved taking down targets as quickly as I could, but also coming up with ridiculous plans was also something I really enjoyed. No matter if they worked or were foiled by some strange thing.
Killing With Friends
There is a co-op mode in the game called, Sniper Assassins. Here one player can play as Agent 47 and your buddies can play as Stone and Knight, who can use some special kinds of ammo. You have a set time limit and have to work together to make sure the targets are taken down as quickly as possible. This is something that is a lot of fun, especially if you are playing with people that you know.
Hitman 2 is probably my favorite game in the whole Hitman series! This is a game that more people really need to experience. It is just a really fun time and it is a game that does make you think. I am very excited about the future of this franchise and cannot wait to see what they come up with next. You do not need to have played the 2016 Hitman game to really get into this and I would say that this does what that game did, but much better in every regard.
