Isekai Succubus ~My Genderbent Saga in Another World~

Going by the name alone, you might think that the spicy titled Isekai Succubus ~My Genderbent Saga in Another World~ would be just another odd Japanese dating simulator – and you’d be completely wrong. As quirky as it is, Isekai Succubus is a surprisingly complex dungeon crawler that, yes, has its fair share of gratuitous fan service.

As long as you don’t mind wrangling with some unwieldy menus, Isekai Succubus is a nice surprise that (for better or for worse) is not as eroge as its name might indicate. Just be ready to play a somewhat slow dungeon crawler with tons of cute anime girls: if that’s your kind of game, then this one will be a blast for you.

Another World, Another Gender

You play as Aihara Rinmu: a guy that has been transported to a magical realm where the succubi live. To make matters worse, a mysterious woman has turned Aihara into a succubus called Rinne, and now he has to learn how to live as a lusty creature in a world that’s as bizarre as it is dangerous.

Luckily for you, two experienced succubi will accompany you on your journeys: Elena and Ange. Will you be able to uncover the secrets of this world and return to your own?

The game plays like a dungeon crawler with RPG elements – it’s very similar to revelations: Persona. The difference here is that talking with enemies, like in the Shin Megami Tensei series, is a no-go. Battling is the only way out of every encounter, like in most RPGs out there.

The battle system is simple and to the point: you issue your commands to your party and wait for your opponent to finish their attacks. Each battle uses static enemy illustrations as sprites, so don’t expect too much animation from this game. The art is good, though: the enemies are well designed, and the girls are just as cute as you’d expect from a game like this.

Adult Content

Though censored, there’s still tons of mature content and h-scenes to be found in Isekai Succubus. The very first dungeon has a very graphic and unavoidable scene that sets the tone for the rest of the game. However, the title manages to strike a balance between outright smut and a quirky adventure game that’s refreshing to see from an eroge game.

As mentioned before, the art looks great. This helps a huge deal in the game’s cutscenes, which are all very graphic and detailed. Fortunately, there’s a “quick hide” option that lets you mute and minimizes the game with a single click: the perfect feature to avoid awkward situations.

The RPG elements of the game, as basic as they are, can be quite entertaining, resulting in a game that’s fun to explore for its dungeon, and not just for its anime waifus. All in all, Isekai Succubus is a surprisingly good game that never sacrifices its playability just to show you some naughty pictures.
