As you discover the lives of these cute girls – and deal with the pressure of being the only guy enrolled in the school – you certainly grow to love the cute animations and charming scenarios. All-Female School

In Koikatu, you play as a guy who has just been enrolled in a new school. The only problem is that, due to some fortunate error, you’re the only male in an all-girls school. This brings about some unexpected “opportunities” to make progress in one of the school’s most neglected after-school clubs: the Koikatu club.

Illusion games veterans will immediately find the similarities between this game and Artificial Academy 2, one of the company’s most successful titles. Koikatu is, at its core, an evolution of that concept, showcasing the company’s improved grasp on animation and modeling work.

That said, there’s more to do in this game than simply get caught in a loop of clicking and shagging, which is more than can be said of the majority of H-games. Much like the Persona series, there are actual dates, or “Social Links” to discover in Koikatu, and they play exquisitely well with the game’s robust customization features.

Create and Conquer

The main appeal of Koikatu – and most Illusion games – is that players can create the girl of their dreams with an impressive degree of customization freedom. Everything from the size of each body part to the coloration of the girls’ irises is customizable, letting players finally live out their fantasies of interacting with their dream waifu.

Aside from the usual body customization sliders, there’s also a personality selector that lets players customize the behavior of each girl. Personality plays a huge role in the girl’s disposition towards naughty stuff and also determines the kind of interactions you can have with them.

These personalities, although limited, add a lot of extra flavor to the otherwise vanilla girls you’ll run into in the school’s hallways. Aside from their personalities, players can also customize the way a girl talks and its frequency.

Cards for Everyone

Each time you create a girl in Koikatu, you’re given that girl’s Card. These cards contain all the data needed to create that unique character and can be customized with unique poses and backgrounds.

The best part about these cards is that they’re interchangeable with other Koikatu players, meaning that transferring your girl to another player’s game is as easy as sending them your card. This creates a sense of a Koikatu community and also lets players demonstrate their creativity.
