Shelter 69

I do have to start this Shelter 69 review by letting you know that what we are dealing with here today is a free to play game! Yeah, so you probably know the way that this is going to go don’t you? What we have here is kind of a parody game of another popular free to play game. I think that there is some good stuff here and that if it did not have all of that microtransaction BS that this genre is known for, it would perhaps be a decent game.

The Last Man On Earth!

The premise of Shelter 69 is pretty interesting. The apocalypse has come, but this is not your usual apocalypse, instead of fire and brimstone, all of the men just died out and that makes us pretty much the most important person in the entire world as we try to make a living for ourselves and our followers. To be fair, the story is pretty fun and I think the premise is good and most of the characters do have their own story which I think with a bit more development could have been something special.

It’s The Shelter, Chicks Dig The Shelter!

That was a fun little Batman Forever reference for you there. Anyway, Shelter 69 has a bunch of ladies that we need to take care of, lead, and of course, have lots of sex with. Basically, what we have here is a lewd version of Fallout Shelter! You need to interact with the characters, listen to them, try to make them happy, and so on. The game is really character driven and there are certainly some interesting characters here, if anything, I wish the game went a bit more deeper with the characters.

Time Is Money…. A Crap Load Of Money!

Ok, now we come to the part of this Shelter 69 review that you knew was coming and that is talking about the gameplay. If you have played Fallout Shelter, this is pretty much the same game. You start off with a rather basic base that you need to expand and improve as the game goes on. You have various ladies (followers) that you need to send out on missions to gather resources, there is some very basic combat and that is pretty much it. The problem is that the grind unless you are willing to spend money is insane! We are talking like five bucks for one chest, five bucks to speed up the timer, and so on. While the game is not bad, it is not good enough to make you want to wait up to 24 hours for something to happen or to spend some real money on the game.

At Least It Is Pretty!

I will give Shelter 69 a lot of credit for being a good-looking game. the actual gameplay here is again like something like Fallout Shelter where you have a 2D look and you can move the camera around the base and so on. It all looks decent enough, but it is the characters that I like best. This game has some awesome looking characters and the sex content that I came across in the game was animated and it looked great too so I give them a lot of credit for that.

Pros:

• I actually liked the main story of the game
• The characters are interesting and I wanted to know them better
• The lewd content that I saw in the game was very well done
• There is a lot to manage in the game

Cons:

• The free to play garbage here is very obnoxious
• The game is just not good enough to warrant the high prices of the microtransactions!
