Angel's Awakening is noir

This interactive literary novel offers a good detective plot where there will be mobsters, perverts, rich people and just plain naive girls. The story is full of a dark mood. The developers themselves, HFTGames, have indicated on their Steam page that their work can be called a "noir-style novel." Recall for readers with a bad memory: noir is a style of cinema, which conveys the characters' distrust of each other, pessimism and a sense of unease. There's also an abundance of sexual content waiting for the player, as Angel (the name sounds literally like an angel in English) goes from a withdrawn shy girl to a woman who has learned the world of sexual relationships in order to rescue her best friend from danger.

Plot and first scene

The plot's starting point is the forties of the last century. The main character is a young girl working in a library. Something terrible has happened... Angel's best friend has gone missing, or rather, she has been kidnapped, as evidenced by the footprints at the crime scene. Since the police do nothing, the main character decides to turn to a private detective. In this role will act Malone - a professional with impressive experience in investigating serious crimes. Malone is distinguished by his developed deduction and the fact that he always goes all the way to the end.

The detective first meets the protagonist in his office, where Angel talks about a missing friend. The woman behaves timidly and is afraid of the detective, because this man has faced bloodthirsty killers, although it turns out further that Malone is the only person who can be trusted.

Visuals

From the get-go we want to note the level of location work, the detective's office looks very artistic and stylized:

• On the shelf are the cases of notorious criminals.
• On the wall are notes about current cases
• Red light oozes through the curtains, adding to the ambience. The light interacts realistically with the environment

The first scene is very striking because the detective is dressed in the style of the time. He wears a hat, a white shirt, and cloth gray pants with suspenders.

Gameplay

Each scene begins with a small animated insert. The player then acts on behalf of a female character. You can move around the three-dimensional map. Interact with the characters in the tangled story. Based on what conversation tactics the player chooses, the story will build. You can either achieve your goals, or stay at the bottom of the barrel. There will be a lot of sex along the way to solve the crime.
