Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel

Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel is a crazy Japanese real-time RPG with action elements. The story unfolds around three people, a guy named Aoto and two girls: Reivateil Saki and Finnel.

Prologue

Aoto was working as mayor in the town of Aoya and accidentally helped a girl, Reivateil. She was being pursued by the Clastanian army and it happened that Aoja and his friends helped Saki. With such a prologue, this story begins. These three characters and two more minor ones, Daiga and Archia, reveal themselves along the way in the novella, revealing secrets and goals. Aoto is a nice guy who develops feelings after meeting Saki. I can't go into detail because it would be a spoiler, but Saki and Aoto are right for each other. After all, they are both willing to sacrifice themselves for others.

Gameplay

The gameplay begins with a sudden battle with the Clastan army. A simple tutorial takes place right on the battlefield. The tutorial starts as soon as a new battle element arises, so no one will have trouble with the controls. Important scenes begin with a three-dimensional film - they make it easy to understand what's going on.

The battles take place in real time. The key to victory is to make the most of the heroine's abilities. The map is three-dimensional and sometimes the character can get stuck in textures, you have to press jump to get out of there. The collision bar in the bottom right corner of the screen shows the probability of encountering enemies. When the bar goes to zero, then the chance of encounter is zero, so you can concentrate on exploring.

Exploration and Combat

The game can be divided into two parts. The first part is the exploration of fields and dungeons. The second part is the part where the player fights, raises his status and pumps up equipment.

The exploration part can be called a pure role-playing game. Move around the map. The camera follows the player and balances well when the elevation changes begin.

As you move around the field map, you may accidentally run into enemies. Move and attack, use the maximum possibilities: magic combos, counterattacks, attacks at a distance. The player can control one of three characters. The person at the computer will not feel like a lone fighter, because two allies are always with him. It is also possible to restore the allies' health. To maximize the heroine's abilities, you need to drop the equipment to make it easier to charge energy. After clearing the equipment unlocks special moves that do a lot of damage. By destroying enemies, the player can earn experience points and money. In addition, the battle is graded - the higher the grade, the easier it is to get hard-to-reach items. A large amount of damage is related to the maximum number of hits and the time of battle.
