What's A.V.A. - Alliance of Valiant Arms' take on the future of the first-person shooter genre? Apparently that it needs to be stripped down to the barebones mechanics. Given that more players are turning towards retro games or old-school gameplay to get their video game thrills, this game might be on to something here.
A.V.A. - Alliance of Valiant Arms is a modern-day F.P.S. game that doesn't seem to offer any unique take on the genre. It actually looks pretty standards, wherein nobody would bother with it the heyday. However, with the flurry of overzealous, mechanically complex shooters we get today, this game could be something refreshing. Let's look into what A.V.A. - Alliance of Valiant Arms might offer.
The New Classic
While A.V.A. - Alliance of Valiant Arms doesn't have a planned release date, we've been treated to a few previews of gameplay. What we can say at the moment is that it does feel nicer not to have a complicated shooter that often creates unbalance in battle arenas. So how would you define the game thus far?
We're not sure of any narrative yet. However, the modern-day setting where players will duke it out in teams against each other or in PvE environments. The visuals are nothing special, but they resonate the same style when the F.P.S. genre was arguably at its height of popularity. But does the combat resonate with the thrills of old?
At the moment, it certainly emanates that old-school F.P.S. vibe with a few twists. Gameplay consists of different game modes like deathmatches or escapes, where the objectives are gripping. What makes things even more exciting is that players can choose their combat classes and loadouts. I mean, that isn't anything revolutionary, but the pure straightforwardness and streamlined mechanics feel nice.
But alas, we haven't got the full scope of gameplay yet. We cannot tell if the hours invested in the game get stale or if any inherent nuisances hinder enjoyment. We can see at the moment a simple F.P.S. game that promotes player competition more than anything. And that reason alone is why we're going to be keeping an eye on A.V.A.
With Valiant Arms Wide Open
A.V.A. - Alliance of Valiant Arms is taking its first strides to P.C. to rekindle a classic multiplayer F.P.S. that players can enjoy without fuss. Throughout gameplay, you get the vibes of the day's Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. That will be OK with many players that enjoy the nostalgia of the days when you would stay up all night battling it out with friends.
Suppose the previous versions of A.V.A. - Alliance of Valiant Arms are to go by. In that case, the game will be a well-rounded F.P.S. and strike that mission of classic gameplay on target. We look forward to seeing more about the game, and even more so when the release graces our screens.
