Saints Row Reboot has finally made a return to the gaming space, and this newest version looks like it might have some new tricks up its sleeves. Whether you’ve never played one of these games before or you’re a veteran, this reboot is a step in the right direction for an iconic franchise.

Story and Settings

This new version of Saints Row is set to retain a lot of the elements found in previous games, and this is pretty exciting to see. Saints Row has always felt Grand Theft Auto’s genetically modified crackhead twin, so a modern version of this experience is nothing short of music to the ears of many gamers.

According to the developers over at Volition, the city in this game will serve as a large playground and the biggest map ever seen in the franchise. This means more than enough terrain to wreak havoc upon the chaotic world. There are fifteen districts featured in this game, each with their own quirks and activities that might draw you in or make you reek in despair.

There are also multiple ventures you can get into thanks to the classic saints row style of gameplay. Similar to hacking in Watch Dogs 2, careers like Insurance Fraud are probably bound to make a killing, and its return is certainly exciting a few fans. Still, we don’t think you should go for it just yet. The Saints Row reboot is also coming along with a few new ventures that might blow the classics out of the water.

Gameplay

Regarding the updates to actual gameplay in this reboot, Saints Row does a pretty good job at improving many core aspects of the experience. Following modern gaming trends, the driving has been fine-tuned to be a lot more interesting and conducive for long-term gameplay activities. Car combat has become fleshed out with more variation than ever. You’re easily going to be having a blast destroying any opponent vehicles that stand in your way. Plus, the large arsenal of weapons at your disposal will solidify your status as someone that should not be messed with.

Speaking of cars, vehicles in this game come in an abundance with 80+ options to choose from including hoverboards, boats, bikes, trucks, planes, helicopters and more. The wacky ways your opponents will meet their demise might just be the funniest thing we can think about right now.

Verdict

The vast arsenal of weapons in this new Saints Row is nothing to shy away from. The game promises pretty much every death dealing, menacing armament that you can think of using. Nothing is gonna stop a baseball-bat-wielding maniac like you from tearing down a city, and the Saints Row reboot actually seems to encourage your inner violence.
