Are you looking to sail the high seas in an immersive, arcade shooter environment? Deadstorm Pirates is an arcade cabinet game that was released in April 2010 and is a favorite among arcade-goers. Developed and released by Namco Bandai, it is a rail-based multiplayer arcade game that’s been a favorite for quite some time.

It's been ported to the PlayStation 3, and it also received a standalone digital release, giving players a chance to play, even if they don't have access to the arcade version. Fans of arcade shooters like House of The Dead or Jurassic Park arcade shooters will have a lot of fun here!

Sail the Seas

You are on a mission to find the magical artifact, Poseidon's Breath. You follow along on the journey of two pirate crew members, Eric and Leah, as they brave supernatural elements and fight for treasure using their special Golden Guns.

Four Unique Stages

There are four stages to complete, including the stormy sea, mountain valley, cave, great whirlpool, and treasure. The difficulty scales as the game progresses and will be sure to keep you on your toes! Each area has unique enemies and challenges! You’ll have to navigate each level and steer the ship to avoid crashing into rocks and other obstacles. Each stage features a boss that you have to take down, and quickly! Don’t worry, they all have their weak spots. If two players aim at the same spot, their attack becomes concentrated and extra powerful!

Arcade Set-Up

The cabinet is a "closed booth style" build with a huge screen measuring 54", rumble seats, and surround sound. There are two fixed guns—the Golden Guns! There's also a third controller, which acts as the ship's wheel! The seats move and shake with the ocean and explosions, making it feel like you’re actually on a ship. It makes for a very immersive and exciting experience.

Not only is there amazing and immersive gameplay, but Deadstorm Pirates has an excellent scoring system that ranks your performance based on the number of kills and points earned. You'll receive health bonuses and recovery depending on how well you perform, and any extra health can be transferred to the other player so that it's not wasted. The rating system for each event can earn you a special Yo-ho-ho rating if you perform exceptionally well.
