MiLE HiGH TAXi

What if you were allowed to join the mile-high club in a MiLE HiGH TAXi? You won't be able to perform that action in this game. However, will you be allowed to drive a high-speed taxi high up in the air in a futuristic city? Does that sound fun? How can it not? It's a next-level taxi simulator where you can take active patrons on a wild ride through a sprawling metropolis!

MiLE HiGH TAXi takes significant influence from driving arcade games of the past. However, this title aims to add another layer of dynamism, functioning off the core driving mechanics yet turning the adventure into what would seem like a TV series. You can't help but be intrigued about what this is all about. So let's strap in and start taking those eager passengers around town.

Join the Mile High (Taxi) Club

The contrasts in visuals are hilariously natural here and immediately noticeable. Players will drive a flying taxi with the bodywork from a 1960s vehicle within a futuristic city with early 20th-century brickwork and 22nd-century infrastructure. Who designed this city, and why is everything so different? It doesn't matter; you're here to drive a taxi through wild airborne traffic and nothing else.

The core gameplay of MiLE HiGH TAXi is pretty straightforward. Players will drive around the city, picking up passengers and finding the most efficient ways to get them to their destination to maximize earnings. Being reckless and you'll lose out on your fares. Sounds familiar? You bet it is! There's a sense of arcade nostalgia as you attempt to master these controls and the art of the flying taxi.

Now the more important question is; is MiLE HiGH TAXi fun? Players can get a surprising kick almost instantly out of the straightforward gameplay. Each journey is spiced up by the personalities behind the passengers, all with bizarre backstories and humor-filled banter. Even though challenges tend to diminish as you get better at the game, you still play to hear what they say.

The three game modes retain player interest, too, offering a more standard career mode that plays out like a TV series. There's also a challenge mode to test your might against the city's erratic traffic, or a free roam method to explore the area as you do your transportation job simultaneously. All considered, MiLE HiGH TAXi does eventually become stale, but it's a surprisingly fun arcade game for what it is.

Time to Pay the Taxi Man

By now, you've probably figured that MiLE HiGH TAXi is an homage to the arcade classic Crazy Taxi. However, the pure insanity of mechanics and the speed of gameplay defines the experience for the latter title, translating the challenge for the modern, hardcore gamer. While that can be a positive for some, it can create accessibility problems for many.

Regardless, MiLE HiGH TAXi is worth playing alone for the colorful characters and the creative game world surrounding the concept. You may find it challenging to be the best taxi driver, but you'll at least get a kick out of the dialogue and the lightning-fast pace of life around you.
