Countess in Crimson

I was so excited to play through Countess in Crimson! It is a lewd visual novel adventure style game with a horror story so I thought for sure it would be a game that appealed to me. Well, it kind of did, it is not perfect by any means, but I did enjoy my time with the game and think that I may want to go back and try to get one of the other endings at some point.

Stranded In The Mountains!

The best thing that Countess in Crimson has going for it is the story. We have two main characters in Josh and Ashley who are a loved up couple that find themselves stuck in this strange town in the mountains, a town that sits in the shadows of a creepy castle. This castle has a real evilness about it and the town is evil too and Josh and Ashley are in some real danger as they try to figure out what is going on.

Their Fate Is In Your Hands

There are four different endings in Countess in Crimson and I have to say that I like the way the story unfolds. The characters are interesting, the relationship between Josh and Ashley is great and the countess is pretty damn awesome too. I think that the way the story is written is really well done and it did keep me interested. If anything pulls me back for another play through it will be the story.

Look At Them Shine!

The female character renders in this game are amazing! The way the bodies look so tight and glisten is something that I have not seen too often or if I have it has not been executed as well as it has in Countess in Crimson. The male characters leave a lot to be desired if I am being honest as they just feel like they are there because they have to be, but the female ones really are some of the best I have seen. The sex scenes do have some animation, but most of them are scenes that just loop for a few seconds.

Sticking To The Path

I would say that the best way to describe the gameplay of Countess in Crimson is that of a visual novel mixed with a point and click adventure game. You have to build up your relationship with certain characters to move the story in a particular direction. I found that there was no moving off the path once you were on it, once you are locked into a particular path that is it and that story will be the one you are on for the rest of the game. I am not saying this is a bad thing, but it certainly makes some of the choices not feel all that important.

Pros:

• I liked the two main characters
• The horror themed story was well written
• You can get four different endings
• The female character models are some of the best that I have ever seen

Cons:

• The gameplay feels rather dated and not all that interesting
• The male character models are not nice looking at all!
