I know that some folks roll their eyes at adult/hentai games, but Crisis Point: Extinction manages to do something really cool. Rather than just being all about sex and seeing girls get it on, this game also tries to be an actual “game” as well which is something many other games that focus on sex fail to do.
Alice? Who The Heck Is Alice?
The main character of the game and the lady you will be playing as is called Alice. Alice is on an adventure to try and save humanity. Humanity has started to travel to outer space, but something went wrong and now all new babies that are born are females so the human race is on a real timeline for its survival. Alice will explore all kinds of areas to find a cure for this and to save the day.
Ok, so the story is kind of all over the place, but at least Crisis Point: Extinction gives you a reason to be doing what you are doing and that is enough for me in this case. The game as a 16-bit art style which looks fantastic if you ask me. The sex stuff is done in this style and looks decent enough, but the game also has some very high-quality CG cutscenes as well.
The gameplay that we have here is very much inspired by games like Super Metroid and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. You will explore levels, shooting a ton of enemies, taking on a ton of bosses, and so on. However, the real key here is finding new power-ups for Alice that will let her go to and explore areas that were previously unavailable to her. It is a formula that has been done a million times and while I would say that Crisis Point: Extinction does not really do anything to expand upon it, what is here is more than playable enough.
I did find that the game was rather short and easy and much of the sex stuff I felt was kind of tacked on. This would have been a game that was probably just as good if the sex stuff was not included, but then it would probably have been seen as a rather uninspired Metroidvania style game.
If you enjoy games in the Metroidvania genre and have an interest in hentai too then I do feel that you will get a lot out of Crisis Point: Extinction. The game is decent enough from a game point of view and the action and exploration can be fun. The game is a tad on the short side, but in that regard, it does not really overstay its welcome.
