Eternal Dread 3

I was excited to put some time into Eternal Dread 3 which is kind of surprising as I had never heard of the other two games! Anyway, I love a good hack and slash RPG, and even more so when it is on the lewd side of the spectrum! I think that this is a fun title that may have a few issues and be rough around the edges, but for the most part, I had a lot of fun with this and found it to be quite an addictive title. It is important to remember that while it may not look like it, this is actually an indie game made by a smaller studio.

Sisters Doing It For The Tribe

The idea of Eternal Dread 3 is pretty cool. Mankind has been at war with demons and monsters, but mankind is greatly on the losing end of this war. So much so that all the strong male warriors are long gone and now it is up to the women to embrace their inner warrior and take the fight to the evil and try to save mankind. The writing is a bit spotty due to the translation, but for the most part, the fantasy story being told here was one that I did enjoy and have fun with.

Unleashing Your Warrior!

A huge thing I got a kick out of with Eternal Dread 3 was that the game allows you to create your own character. That is great, but it was the way the game had an actual class system that impressed me. There are eight classes you can pick from which are, warrior, mage, ranger, engineer, battle mage, rogue, sage, and guardian. I went for the warrior class as I like my action RPGs to be more hack and slash. I felt that I did start to develop a real connection with my character and that in turn helped me get more invested in the story.

No Shallow Bimbos Here!

While the character creation stuff is great, Eternal Dread 3 has some fun hack and slash RPG style gameplay. The combat on the surface is a button masher and basic, but there are different attacks and abilities and each class has its own strengths and weaknesses that you can embrace. One thing that I thought was really cool was that eventually, you can get a second class! The core gameplay has you heading into dungeons, rescuing chicks, and then moving on. With stats to improve, gear to get, and so on, what you would expect from a lewd action RPG is here. I can see why some might lose interest as the gameplay loop never really changes, but I found it quite addictive as I was invested in improving my character.

The Indie Effect

Remember how I said that Eternal Dread 3 was a little rough around the edges in the intro? I was really talking about the presentation of the game. Stuff like your character entering into a t pose when you leave an area, the running animations looking awkward and actually more than a few of the animations have a rather “budget” look to them. It is not bad by any means, but you can clearly tell that they were working with a budget here and that they perhaps did not have as much time as they would have liked. The lewd content here comes in the form of when you lose a battle and they are ok. I like the sexy look of the characters in the game in general and think that it adds to the fun of the game.

Pros:

• I liked making my own sexy female warrior
• The class system here is fun and you even get to add a second class
• I liked the fast paced action RPG combat the game had to offer
• The game was very addictive for me

Cons:

• The game visually is a bit rough in places, especially the t-pose thing
• A bit more variety to the quests would have been nice
