Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix is a music game from the developers of Sega. Most of the songs are sung using the Vocaloid program with the voice of Miku Hatsune, but there are also vocals from other Japanese artists.
The game is similar to other rhythm games and contains a large selection of songs sung by Hatsune Miku. After selecting a song, an anime-style video of the performer opens. On top of the clip, gray figures appear in the form of a circle, cross, square, and triangle, just like the buttons on a gamepad. During the performance, the same figures come out, colored in different colors. For fans of hardcore rock this game is not suitable, but the legends of the rock scene will be waiting for players in the most famous rhythm game – Guitar Hero.
The player needs to press the button corresponding to the figure at the moment the colored image passes through the transparent one. The degree of accuracy of pressing is displayed in the corner of the screen. In case of a successful hit or a small deviation the player gets a score for pressing Cool or Good. After the song is played, the total accuracy of the hit is calculated and a score is assigned:
- Cheap - the performance does not count
- Standart - the song counts, it is possible to open an item
- Great - a certain item will be unlocked and a new costume may appear
- Perfect - both the item and the costume will be unlocked
- Excellent - all of the above and additional bonuses are unlocked
There are 4 levels of difficulty for each song. The harder the level, the more and faster figures appear. The level of difficulty determines the number of points awarded. The harder the level and the more accurate the hits, the more points will be awarded. Most songs can be successfully completed on the easiest level, which uses mainly one button. But for more experienced users, more complicated modes will be interesting, where the sense of rhythm and reaction will be fully revealed.
A complete collection of virtual singers
In addition to Hatsune Miku, there are songs used by other vocalists in the game:
- Kagamine Rin
- Kagamine Len
- Megurine Luka
In between song performances, it is possible to visit various rooms. The DIVA Room represents the artists' rooms. You can buy different furniture and decorations for them. All purchases are made by earning points. In the stores you can buy a variety of costumes and accessories for the performers. A lot of points are given for the passed songs, so difficulties with purchases usually do not arise.
The game is available in 2 modes:
- Arcade with button control
- Mix Mode - control with levers on the joystick. Need to catch a special platform falling figures
The game includes more than 100 songs. Among them contain favorites from past versions of hits and new compositions. The character can be dressed in one of 300 costumes, and if you want you can create your own clothes in a special editor.
Of the songs you like, you can create your own playlists for further listening.
The game has a concert editor, which allows you to create your own concerts, arrange the stage and select your own list of tracks. The user can choose songs from a variety of genres from groovy pop songs to lyrical ballads.
- Large selection of songs of different genres
- Many levels of difficulty
- Ability to change Switch icons on PlayStation
