Let me start by saying that Heroes Rise: Prison Break has some of the best lewd parody art you will see if you are a fan of comic books. I think that the game has some amazing art and a pretty interesting premise. However, I will warn you off the bat that this is a very, very grindy game. If you can get past that, you will have fun with this game and I can tell you that I did. However, if you are someone that gets frustrated by the grind, you may want to just play the game for 30 or so minutes and then decide if you are going to stick with it.
The Villains Win!
The premise of Heroes Rise: Prison Break is actually really cool, the villains have risen and imprisoned all of the famous superheroes! We are talking about the likes of Power Girl, Raven, She-Hulk, and more, there are other characters too like Tony Stark that play a role in things. I like how this game is not just going for DC or Marvel and instead is mixing the two together. The idea of the story is that we have accidentally got locked up and we are trying to get out of prison and also get laid in the process.
Getting So Close
While I am loving the idea of the story that Heroes Rise: Prison Break is telling, I found this to be very, very hard to follow. The reason for that was that the translation was rather rough and some of the dialogue scenes go on for quite a while. There is some stuff with Harley Quinn that sounded very interesting, but it was just so hard to make sense of that I just started skipping it so that I could get to the next bit of artwork.
Speaking Of Artwork!
This is a great looking game, but it is certainly a game of two parts. The reason I say that is that at some point during development of Heroes Rise: Prison Break they switched out artists and it is quite noticeable as the art in the second half of the game is so much better. The original art is not bad to be fair, but there is a clear jump in quality. The character designs are awesome and this features the best and hottest version of Power Girl and She-Hulk that I have ever seen. It was the epic lewd content that made me keep playing this and that brings us to the gameplay.
Working Out Like A Superhero
Hey, do you think all these superheroes are jacked without training? Well, you may not be working out, but Heroes Rise: Prison Break requires you to grind like you would not believe. You need to make money so you can buy and do stuff and that requires you to do the same thing over and over again! You need to snitch on people too, but the gameplay and the sequence in which you need to do things can be rather strict and there are a few ways that you can lock your game, forcing you to restart or load an older save file. While I powered through as I needed to see more naked Power Girl, I can see why some would lose interest rather quickly.
Does the good outweigh the bad in Heroes Rise: Prison Break? I think that is a personal question, to be honest with you. I tend to be able to deal with grinding quite well, a good friend of mine on the other hand played this for around an hour and said nope, he was done. For me, the incredible art and seeing these iconic Marvel and DC characters in such lewd ways made me want to keep on playing, but even I will admit that it did start to get to me after a while. Play this for an hour and if the game is not driving you nuts, keep on playing!
