Let’s be honest, everyone always wanted to have the experience of being a super-hero, and with Marvel Powers United Vr you are able to do just that. You are able to take control of your favorite Marvel heroes, and experience how it feels like to be a hero and have superpowers. Not only can you test them against some villains, but you also get to see the heroes talking and interacting with each other. Sadly the excitement of being a hero doens’t last long, as sadly the game ends up getting repetitive pretty fast.
Become A Hero
There are in total eighteen heroes that you can play, and they all have incredible voice-lines that really make the characters feel alive. Sadly there isn’t a lot of interaction between the heroes, and we don’t get a lot of conversation between them during missions. That is a bit sad since we are accustomed to the heroes engaging and talking to each other, so that is something that would’ve make the game feel a bit better.
Also while there are eighteen characters, their gameplay isn’t exactly that unique. Yes, there are some characters that play unlike any other ones, but sadly a number of them play very similarly as most of them will just fly around shooting some sort of magic blast. While it isn’t visually similar, the combat feels almost the same. Also another sad thing is the maps, while they all look very pretty, that is the only thing about it. Choosing different maps doens’t change anything gameplay wise, so while all the maps look very unique, the game will always play the same in every map.
The way the game works is that you will choose a hero, and go on a mission with four more heroes, and work together to complete it. You will fight against waves of enemies, until eventually a boss appears. However, as amazing as the game looks visually with all the abilities and superpowers flying around, the boss fights are a bit disappointing. No matter the boss, they always act the exact same way, so you can just use the same strategy to beat every single boss. That takes away a bit from the game, as it would be way better if each boss had their unique attack patterns. Also the final stage is a bit boring, as one player needs to go around to collect eight power cells, and sadly that means that you pretty much won’t be fighting anymore, as you will just be running around picking up power cells.
Finally when completing a mission, you will be rewarded with loot boxes, and don’t worry, there are no microtransactions in the game, and you can get new skins for the characters, and after collecting enough cosmic cube shards, you unlock a boss fight against Thanos, that sadly isn’t all that great.
If you ever played other VR games that let you become a hero like Iron Man VR and Batman: Arkham VR, then you will without a doub enjoy Marvel Powers United Vr. While the game isn’t perfect, it still is pretty fun, and the best part about it is that joining up with three other friends is simply amazing, and you really get the feeling that you’re part of a superhero team.
