The Heroines' Last Anthem

The Heroines' Last Anthem is a lewd 2D action platformer. I spent the last weekend getting to know this game a bit better and I thought that it was not bad. I read mostly negative reviews about the game so perhaps my expectations were on the low side. However, this ended up being nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be. Hey, I am not saying it is great, but if you want a lewd action platformer that has some epic XXX content, you can certainly do a great deal worse than this that is for sure.

The Heroes Three!

The game has a fantasy setting and The Heroines' Last Anthem has three heroines that are standing up against an evil orc army. There is not a great deal to the story, but I do like how each of the three heroines has her own personality. Rela is a Valkyrie, Ialantha is an elven archer and Ewella is a brave ranger. Each girl is a hero in her own right and while it does not have a ton of story, I do think that they do a good job of at the very least giving you a reason to be fighting these monsters.

From Gameplay To Gangbang!

Visually, The Heroines' Last Anthem is awesome. It has two very different styles to the visuals. The gameplay sections are done in a cute 2D pixel art style, it kind of reminds me of a halfway point between the 16-bit Adventure Island games and the recent Bro Force title. However, what is truly epic about this game is the XXX CGs. I came across a few of them and I am not usually someone that is into hot chicks getting banged by monsters, but when the chicks look this good, I will make an exception. The art here is stunning and it is animated too! The incredible XXX art is more than enough of a reason to keep me playing this game!

Great…. On Paper

I think that The Heroines' Last Anthem has some great ideas. It is a lewd 2D action platformer and each character has their own skills that they can use. You need to attack enemies, do some platforming, do a bit of exploration, and the usual stuff that you would expect in a game like this. None of the levels overstay their welcome and in all, it has the bones of a solid game. I also liked how you could collect coins to improve your character and this was something that made me want to explore every area of the level.

Be Sure To Really Hold That Button!

I read many, many negative reviews about The Heroines' Last Anthem and most of them were about the game being a bit on the janky side. To be honest, I can kind of see this, but it is not horrible. I think the problem is that you really have to press a button to make something happen. In a usual 2D platformer, you just tap the direction you want to go and that is it, in this game, you have to really hold that button down to move. I would say that it feels like there is a bit of a delay to everything. Now the thing is, once you get used to the way the game plays, it is completely playable and even fun! I see the problem being people sticking with it to get to grips with the quirks or the jankyness (if you want to be harsh) the game has going on.

Pros:

• I liked how there were three characters to play as
• You can find coins to improve your character
• The lewd content is awesome, like really awesome!
• The 2D pixel art has a lot of charm

Cons:

• Those controls are not super smooth and take a while to get used to
• One of the characters has a wall jump that does feel broken

The Heroines' Last Anthem is a side-scroller platformer that tells the story of a world where only Valkyries have always ruled. However, dark times have come and a horde of orcs has broken into the peaceful kingdom, capturing and raping every Valkyrie on the way. War is war, but the captured Valkyries seem to be beginning to enjoy their tormentors and refuse to fight any further. The head herself goes out on the hunt, will luck smile on her?
