The Way Back Home - Sinister Night

I love a good horror game, and when I heard that The Way Back Home - Sinister Night was classed as a lewd game, but not as lewd as many other XXX games, it certainly got me very interested. I ended up playing through this in about an hour or so, and I had a fantastic time doing so. I would say that this is best described as a lewd adventure game, as it is a pretty straightforward experience, but there is just something that keeps you hooked and makes you want to see what happens next.

Making Her Way Home

Our main character in The Way Back Home - Sinister Night is very likable; she is a cute chick who likes to make video games, watch TV, screw around on her phone, and, for the most part, she is as normal as it gets. However, each night, she needs to make her way to the bath house, and it is here and on the way home that things start to get weird. We basically have to live several nights in this girl's life as she ends up experiencing more and more strange and disturbing things going on. Honestly, it is hard to put into words as it sounds rather basic, but there is just something about this that hooks you.

Walking, Walking, Running!

Much like the story, talking about the gameplay of The Way Back Home - Sinister Night makes it sound like it is very basic and that there is not a whole lot to it, but again, there is just something here that you have to experience yourself to appreciate it. Basically, we control our bathhouse loving heroine, and she can walk all around each area, not just in a single plain. Some screens will have nothing on them, and then on others, something will be there for her to interact with, be it something that will move the plot on, something that will scare you, or something else! In addition to this, you have other things to do, for example, when you are in your apartment, you can choose whether you want to play on her PC or watch TV.

This Is Thriller

The way that they managed to make standard streets, the area outside of a mini mart, and other mundane places look creepy is what I love about The Way Back Home - Sinister Night. This game has a very cool art style to it; the 2D nature of the sprites may not seem all that great at first; however, our MC and the other characters, as well as the locations themselves, are nicely detailed, and there is just something “off” about everything. I do not mean that as a negative at all, more that I mean, you can just tell that there is something very off about this young woman's path that she has to take home each night.

Like A Shiver Down Your Spine!

Now, The Way Back Home - Sinister Night is classed as a horror and a lewd game, but this is a very interesting take on both counts. To start with, the horror content is not just about making you jump out of your skin with jump scares; it is more about creeping you out. Some of the character faces, that weird balloon thing, and the other things that you come across each night will make you feel unsettled. The lewd content, I would say that this is more about exhibitionism, as this is not super hardcore, but our MC is very easy on the eyes, and the bits of titillation that the game does have are very well done.

Pros:

• I thought that the MC was very cute
• The story hooked me and kept me interested
• I liked how the gameplay was pretty easy
• This is fun if you like a more creepy kind of horror

Cons:

• It may not have as much XXX content as some lewd fans would like
• While I really liked this, there is not a whole lot to it

The Way Back Home - Sinister Night is an ecchi horror game built on the RPG Maker engine, in which you must spend six nights in a terrifying atmosphere of mystery and fear. The story begins with the main character, a pretty girl, sitting on the floor in her room. Suddenly, the phone rings, and she receives a photo of herself in a swimsuit. But she didn’t take it herself! Then a terrifying voice starts telling her that it knows how much her apartment rent costs and that it’s aware of everything she does. Later, he whispers to her about murders, and the girl hangs up and runs out of the apartment in terror. It’s made clear to her that she’s being watched and that she might be the next victim of some kind of maniac. She has to go to a crowded place, like a store or work, but she has to do it in a way that prevents her from being killed in a dark alley.
