If you’re a fan of charming open-world games, Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles might be a game you should look at. The game is set in a place called Gemea, a beautiful paradise, filled with different types of environments. Although it might look perfect, it has its darkness. A mysterious fog called Murk has begun to take over the island, and it is up to you to stop it.

A Wonderful World

After being shipwrecked into this beautiful place called Gemea, you discover that it is currently being controlled by a mysterious fog called Murk. This fog is polluting the environment and affecting the island residents, and it is your job as the hero to rid Gemea of this Murk. And to do that, you must travel across the lands and find sprites to help you dispel the Murk.

In this open-world adventure, there is a lot that you can do. There are different types of activities that you can do, like fishing, farming, and even crafting. Yonder is a game where players can focus mainly on enjoying exploring the beautiful world and all of its different biomes, and even interact with the wildlife. You can befriend these animals, and doing that will make them follow you around for some time.

During your journeys, you can come across treasure chests, and plenty of side-quests can be accepted. You will also come across cosmetic items so that you can make your character more stylish than ever. The game won’t pressure you to do anything at all, and there also isn’t an impending sense of doom to make the players want to rush the main story. That makes it so that you can play the game at your own pace, and take in and appreciate the amazing island that Gemea is.

Yonder isn’t a game made for hardcore players, so if you’re more of a casual player, you will love this game. You can walk around the island without having to worry about being attacked at any given time, so you can focus on walking around, do some fishing, farm a little bit, and go out in the wild to interact with some of the beautiful and cute animals. Having the freedom to play the game at your own pace is great.

Sadly, the game does not have a lot of longevity, as you can beat the main story in about ten hours. And if you’re a completionist, you will have about twenty more hours of content. It may not be a lot compared to other games of the same genre, but if you like games where you can relax while playing, like Stardew Valley and Starbound, you will love Yonder.
