Noosphere

As someone who loves horror games, Noosphere is a game that has been on my radar for quite some time now. What I love about the idea of what this game is offering is that while three are jump scares on offer here, this is more about physiological horror all the while solving puzzles and trying to get to the bottom of a deep and dark mystery.

Living With The Enemy Within!

What has intrigued me most about Noosphere is the story that is being told. The game has us playing as a guy called Vincent who gets into a pretty bad car accident. He survives the car accident, but then he starts to have these strange occurrences and it turns out that an evil entity is now living inside of him.

Thanks to a machine he has built catted The Noosphere, Vincent is able to go deep into his own subconscious to try and deal with whatever this thing inside of him is. The story is great stuff and hits pretty damn hard too with more than a few surprising twists and turns. I have to say that with the story I am getting major, Evil Within vibes from the story being told here.

Take A Walk On The Wild Side!

I love the presentation of Noosphere. This game is dark, moody, twisty and it hits all the right spots that you would want a horror game too. I like the way the areas in the game are twisted by Vincent’s own mind and the “entity” that is causing him all of this trouble. Even a place that at first glance can look normal, has a twisted side that can get under your skin. In all, the game has a great look and it is one that I am sure horror fans are really going to like.

Getting To The Bottom Of Yourself

As far as the gameplay goes, what we have on offer here is a first-person horror game that has you exploring each area you come across, trying to uncover the mystery of what the hell is going on here and what this thing wants from you. The gameplay is mostly exploration-based with some very tricky puzzles for you to solve. Some of these require some major out-of-the-box thinking.

I like this kind of gameplay and I think in many ways the gameplay is like The Evil Within too, but with less of a focus on action than that game had, the atmosphere actually gives me some major Outlast feels now that I think about it.

If you like horror games, Noosphere is one that has to be on your radar. I love the way that the story here is designed with getting under your skin and making you question what is really going on here. The gameplay is much more methodically paced and that is something I personally love in a horror game, but I get that it is not to everyone’s taste.

Pros:

This game is trying to tell a great psychological horror I love the dark, moody, and creepy visuals Vincent is an interesting protagonist Some of the puzzles will really test your skills

Cons:

The game is a real slow burn Some may not like that action is not the focus
