Now & Then

I was blown away by Now & Then! This is a lewd visual novel game and it is absolutely fantastic! I usually am not into the whole daddy/daughter thing (well it is not his actual daughter in this game to be fair) however, this is probably one of the best examples of a game having this fetish! This is such a well written story and one that does things a bit differently and kind of reminds me of a TV show that I used to love!

The Now!

The story of Now & Then is very interesting as it is told in two parts. Remember the TV show Lost and how it would have the stuff happening in the present and then show flashbacks to the past (well before they were flash forwards)? Well, that is what we have here. You see, the story takes place in a world that has been ravaged by a pandemic and we play as a middle aged dude looking to protect his adopted daughter and her friend from people and creatures that wish to do them harm.

The Then

The flashback scenes in Now & Then show how our main character and the girl came to be a pair. This stuff is very well done and it gets you even more invested in the story. I could see some saying that it kind of makes the whole thing creepy, but I think they pull it off as best they can. The stuff in the past is written in a kind of “slice of life” way and it does make you care more for the characters and the troubles they are having in the present.

Doing What Is Right

As I said in the intro, Now & Then is a lewd visual novel game and it is a lewd visual novel game that gives you choices. With the game being so story driven the developer did have to reign in the choices a bit. So, while you do get to make them, I never felt like I was going to make things change too drastically, they kind of feel like a have sex or do not have sex kind of thing most of the time as it is pretty obvious to see where your choices will lead. Still, if keeping things more linear is what allowed the story to be this good, I am all for it.

One Out Of Two Ain’t Bad

Now, I do have to say that I think that ¾ of Now & Then is great to look at. I think the design of the MC is good and I like how we do not see his face, it makes it easier for you to picture yourself as the protagonist. Now the “daughter” Carol sure is cute and has a very nice look about her, but the other chick, her friend kind of creeps me out, to be honest with you, she has the look of someone from a Japanese horror movie like The Ring or The Grudge! The XXX content is well done and those boobs have some awesome jiggle physics which makes the sex scenes even more fun!

Pros:

• This game has one of the most ingesting stories I have experienced in a while
• The execution of this story is incredible
• I liked how it made me feel like I was the MC
• I was hooked on this game from the start until the very end

Cons:

• That other chick is not very attractive at all
• I wish that there were a few more important choices we had to make
