Omega Labyrinth Z

Before we start on this Omega Labyrinth Z review, I have to share a very interesting little bit of information that I discovered. This game was supposed to get an official release here in the West, but Sony got involved and said no way! So, Australia, the UK, and the USA missed out on this lewd dungeon crawler. I find the whole controversy thing a bit strange as I have played far worse games that got a Western release than this.

Under The Academy

As the game is in Japanese, I was not entirely sure what was going on, but do not worry I know the basics of Omega Labyrinth Z so I can give you a bit of an idea of what the story is here. This is actually a sequel to Omega Labyrinth and in that game, a group of girls are on the hunt for a holy grail of beauty.

This game features the same cast of characters and a few new faces. This time the sexy ladies are heading to a new underground labyrinth that has appeared underneath the academy and there a whole bunch of adventure awaits. There is quite a lot of text in this game so I assume that there is a fair bit of story at play here.

Chibi Boobs!

One of the things that I find very appealing about Omega Labyrinth Z is the visuals and I actually think that it is the visuals that got the game in trouble before they got around to releasing it here in the West. The game has a neat chibi-style going on for the gameplay, but the cutscenes and portraits are all done with this amazing high-quality anime artwork that looks incredible and there are plenty of big bouncy boobs.

The actual dungeons that you will be exploring in the game are rather sparse in their design, but I do feel they make up for it with the enemy designs which look great and are a ton of fun. the game has a cutesy soundtrack and it goes with the look of the game very well.

Exploring The Dungeon

One of the reasons so many people liked Omega Labyrinth Z was the random nature. Each time you enter the dungeon it is randomized so you never know what weapons or enemies are going to be waiting for you. The way the monsters in the game move is very interesting at first, I thought this was going to play like your typical 3rd person action RPG, but the enemies move in a grid, turn based style and it took me a while to get the hang of the game.

As well as finding weapons and stuff, you can get bras, panties, and other sexy items of clothing for the ladies to wear. Unfortunately, I had a really hard time with the language barrier here and I struggled to get the best out of the game.

Pros:

• I loved the way the boobs bounced
• It is fun how you can find sexy clothing for the girls in the dungeon
• The soundtrack fits the game perfectly
• I liked the controversial history behind the game

Cons:

• The game is all in Japanese
• It is not as lewd as the controversy would make you think
