Shera and the Three Treasures

In Shera and the Three Treasures, you take control of Shera, a warrior who must travel the land and defeat the new Demon Lord. In this indie roleplaying game, you must take the fight to the Demon Lord and explore a rich and diverse fantasy world. Take part in some engaging turn-based combat, and maybe get into some more…interesting situations. If you are looking for a hentai roleplaying game that you can actually enjoy from a critical point of view, this is the one for you. Let’s get into it.

Gameplay

The gameplay in Shera and the Three Treasures is that of a hentai roleplaying game with strong fantasy elements. As though you were playing Final Fantasy III but with tons more ‘ecchi’ situations for you to enjoy. The way the skill systems interact with, and add an extra dimension to, the combat is truly brilliant.

A fair amount of attention has been paid to the details in this title, and everything works together well. Attack and defend as you would expect to in any RPG, and you’ll find yourself very familiar with the play style very quickly. Outside of combat, you run around the world in sprite form, as though it were the Pokemon Fire Red game.

There is some complexity that you will notice throughout. For instance, when fighting a group of smaller, ground-based enemies, the view will shift and the character gains a new combat maneuver in those moments. These are small touches, but it goes a long way to show how much the developers cared about their game. The, how you say…saucy, content is pretty great too. As combat evolves and you get more and more damaged, you may see some more of the naughtier things this game can offer. It’s a simple game style, but it works.

Visuals

The visuals are the stand-out part of this game. Whether its in the sprite form where you run around and engage with a diverse and interesting world, or in the battle or conversation forms, its clear that a great attention to detail has been paid to the game.

Although the art may not be award winning, it has a lot of passion and heart, which comes through with just how many pose variations there are. I found it surprisingly impressive that there are different poses and pictures depending on what attack Shera has endured or what creature she is fighting. That’s a level of detail they didn’t need to add, but its something you notice and it makes all the difference.

The Writing

Ay, the writing in this is pretty good. It might be simple, but at no point was I sitting here thinking “what the hell am I reading?” when a conversation was going down. The story itself is unique and engaging and maybe the ecchi RPG thing has been a bit overdone, but this game still comes at it all with its own humor and delivery that is indisputably its own.
