Madmind Studio is a game development studio that's no strange to controversies and hardcore adult games. Succubus is their latest title, and it's the spin-off of another title they've released some years ago. Soon to be available on Steam, you can get the demo right now and test it out for yourself. If you dare.
About the game
Succubus is a first-person action-adventure game full of all kinds of violence, gore, and heavy content. Definitely not suited for children, teens, nor sensitive adults. You take on the role of a Succubus, a wild demon that’s moved by lust and bloodthirst.
In this title, you'll have to destroy all kinds of demons, monsters, and evil creatures as you traverse Hell itself. The game is completely uncensored and very, very explicit. It is a sequel to a previous title by Madmind Studio called Agony.
It’s worth noting that Agony had an additional gameplay mode that had the player control a Succubus to accomplish some small objectives. Now they went on and completely made an entire game where you play as the Succubus in the same version of Hell we got to experience in Agony.
These two games seem to have a lot in common, and not just because they share the same Hell experience, but also due to the gameplay and extreme graphic content. Even though we just had a small almost 14 minutes preview of the game, there's the playable demo too.
This demo gives us a first taste of what Succubus is all about. There's still tons of graphic gore, free violence, nudity, and all kinds of violence you can imagine. This time, it seems to be more centered towards the action-adventure element of the game. This is to be expected since it was the most popular and best-worked part of Agony.
For almost as long as games have existed, they’ve always had some controversial game that seems to be “too violent”, and Madmind Studio seems to be set to make their games be those. Succubus and Agony.
We are not here to judge the developers or players that enjoy these games, but it's worth noting the difference in public acceptance of violence in gaming through the years. To think that games such as the original Doom were deemed to be too violent, and people even held protests to have the game canceled.
This game still hasn’t fully launched, but we can judge it a little by the demo available, and what they have shown about the title. However, taking its predecessor Agony as a reference, things won’t look too good for Succubus.
Agony was full of glitches and bugs, and the game was pretty messy. Hopefully, they get it right this time around, otherwise, it will truly be a hellish experience to get through this game.
We can't stress enough how this game isn't for everybody, especially not for the younger audience, and even a huge part of the adult audience either. It is for a very specific audience unless they haven't fixed anything from the first game, in that case, it isn't for anybody.
Our preview is more of a placeholder at this point, so we'll have to wait for a little to give a more developed review.
