Tank Mechanic Simulator is a realistic simulation game based around tanks from the World War II era. Not only do you get to renovate and repair old tanks to restore them to their former glory, but you get to take them for test drives, too. There’s plenty to do in this game so without further ado let’s jump into what you can expect when you download Tank Mechanic Simulator and launch it for the first time.
Tank extraction
Before you can start to repair any tanks, you need to find and extract them from old World War II battlefields first. You do this by going on extraction missions and scouring the land for signs of buried tanks. Once you spot one, you can then call on the excavation team to assist you in pumping out the mud from around the tank and lifting it out of the ground. From here, the tank gets taken to the workshop for renovation.
The renovation procedure
The renovation procedure in Tank Mechanic Simulator is incredibly intricate and has a strong focus on the finer details. After cleaning your tank, de-rusting it, and sandblasting it, you can then choose to paint it however you like, whether that be with some kind of camouflage or a custom decal.
During the renovation procedure, you can also take tanks apart to repair and replace individual elements such as the wheels, engines, gearbox components, and more. Each tank has over 200 parts that you can interact with, which is pretty impressive!
Test driving
Once you’ve repaired certain interior parts of the tank like the engine and fuel system, you’ll then be able to take it out for a spin on the testing grounds. It’s so much fun driving around over various obstacles and testing out the tank’s various features, including the armament. Driving a tank around is somewhat reminiscent of driving a tractor in Farming Simulator 19, but it’s so much better knowing that the vehicle you’re in only works because of the time and effort you put into repairing and restoring it.
Plenty of variety
Tank Mechanic Simulator features 15 different vehicles, all based on real tanks used in World War II, which you can customise however you like once you’ve restored them. When you’re happy with how a tank looks, you can either sell it for a hefty sum of money or choose to display it in your very own museum. Pretty neat, right?
The attention to detail in this game is phenomenal and is sure to surprise and impress anyone knowledgeable about World War II. From renovating the tanks to testing them out, there are lots of things to do and the game feels very complete so I'd definitely recommend you check it out, especially if you're a fan of simulation games.
