Trap Yuri Garden

You need to check out Trap Yuri Garden if you are into femboys, “traps” crossdressers or whatever you want to call them! This is a gorgeous and charming lewd visual novel that may only last a few hours, but those couple of hours that the game lasts are truly fantastic stuff indeed! I had a really fun time with this one and when your biggest complaint about a game is that you wish there was more of it, you know that the developer must have done something right! Speaking of which, this game is made by a fantastic team and I would argue that this is their best work yet!

Why Am I Here?

The setting of Trap Yuri Garden is a school where traps from rich families go to study and fully embrace their “trapness”. I got a huge kick out of the way that they were called “he-iresses” and that right there kind of sets the tone for the cheeky kind of humor that the game has. Our main character is a young trap called Iori who is like the rest of the school, from a rich family. Now, at first, Irori does not see himself as a trap and does not want to be here or have anything to do with it, but this causes Iori to buttheads with Mikage who is the top dog here, what starts out as a rivalry, soon turns into something else!

Tripping Over Traps

One of the main reasons why Trap Yuri Garden is such a great game is that Iori and Mikage are not the only wealthy traps that are here. We have a fantastic lineup of characters here, the other two that I really liked were the sister combo of Mahiro who is so over the whole trap thing, and Asuka who really embraces her family's lineage. There is also a too cute teacher and one dude who does away with the trap stuff and is pretty much the head “dude” at the school. The story has a great sense of humor about it and I grew to really feel like I was getting to know and care about some of these characters and that speaks a great deal to how good the writing in this game is.

Traps That Are Very Easy On The Eyes

Now, the presentation of Trap Yuri Garden is fantastic, but I guess that is only true if you get a kick out of traps and femboys. However, if you do, you will be blown away by how great this game looks. The characters just ooze personality and the quality of the animation is some of the best that I have seen in a game this year! The way the character's facial expressions change lets you see many different emotions as well as making them look super cute too. The version I played had the XXX stuff blurred out, but I am sure there will be a patch somewhere. Oh, the sound design in this game is great too as the characters are voice-acted and that helps add to their interesting personalities.

A Landing Is A Hard Thing To Stick

What we have here with Trap Yuri Garden is a lewd visual novel so that means the “gameplay” is pretty much just following the story and trying to decide where it all goes. However, this one is very entertaining and I was sucked in, but I will say that by the time I got to the ending, I did think that the ending felt kind of rushed. It is not bad or anything like that, but they spent the game really getting you invested in this school, the characters, and so on and the ending did not make a ton of sense to me. I enjoyed the game enough that I want to play through it again to see if the ending clicks with me more on a second playthrough. Up until that point though, I was having an awesome time, and while it is a short game. It was so entertaining, the couple of hours I spent in this school flew by.

Pros:

• The trap school setting was fun
• There are many interesting and likable characters
• The art in this game is gorgeous
• You can easily play through this in one sitting

Cons:

• For me, there was something a little off about the ending
• How much you like this will probably depend on your feelings towards traps
