WCW: Super Brawl Wrestling
The monsters of the ring have gathered to bring you the very best ring action in World Championship Wrestling.
As a reminder, this version is not fully complete, so we can't show you the entire scenery of the ring. The empty seats will be filled with roaring fans, cheering and booing as the fight starts. Sorry for the inconvenience; Team EGM will update you in the future, and show more pictures and info on this slammin' wrestling game.
As you can see in the screen shot above, you'll be able to choose from 12 wrestlers from the wrestling world. Of course, they'll have different styles of wrestling, with different signature moves.
WCW is loaded with bone-crushin' moves. Grab your opponent and whirl around him in the air. Better yet, carry your half-naked foe on your back and slam him to the ground ending with a knee drop to the throat.
Gain some speed by bouncing off the ropes to send yourself across the ring and land a drop-kick on your opponent. Climb on the turn-buckle and jump on your defenseless foe. Make sure he's lying down because your opponent can avoid your high-flyin' attempts when he's still on his feet. That's gotta hurt! Oh well, no harm, no foul. As I was saying, there are a lot of combinations of moves that the wrestlers can do.
Finishing your opponent is determined by whether you set the options to three drop counts or the number of rounds that the fight has been set at.
In the end, you can play up to four players and have a royal rumble. In this case, you can team up and play tag-team wrestling.
Make sure to stay tuned to later issues of EG/Wfor more high-flying action of this FCI game.

Lock arms with 12 top WCW superstars in FCI's WCW SuperBrawl Wrestling for the SNES. Unfortunately, stiff animation and mediocre game play make the experience strictly second rate.
This game is loaded with championship features. Play solo, against a friend, or team up for a four-player, tag-team slugfest. Additional options enable you to customize the rules and timing. WCW heavies such as Sting and Vader are all well represented by several digitized images and sound bites of their favorite battle cries.
Hit the Mat
Unfortunately, the graphics are down for the count. Although the sprites are large and well rendered, they move stiffly. You never get the sense that they're inside the ring; they instead seem to scroll around the ring's graphical perimeter.
A fairly extensive repertoire of standard wrestling- moves, such as punches, knockdowns, and slams, respond well to on-screen controls, but because of the graphical shortcomings, it's difficult to line up against an opponent to execute a move.
The sounds are only average. The startup screens feature a sharp stereo soundtrack, but during actual game play, the sound effects are cut to a bare minimum.
The Call at the Bell...
WCW SuperBrawl Wrestling has the makings of a topnotch wrestling game with great licensing tie-ins, but its game play falls short. While this game shouldn't be completely written off, it doesn't deserve championship status, either.
- Once your opponent is down, repeatedly bash him with elbow falls and kicks to soften him up for the final takedown.
- If you're down, roll away from your opponent before trying to get up.
Here is the latest Super Famicom wrestling game from the development team Human. Super Professional Wrestling will feature a large variety of moves. Each move will be executed with different button combinations giving the player more control over the game than ever. While there aren't any famous names in this cart, what you will find is solid wrestling action for one or two players. Great animation and sound effects add to the realism.
