Cycle of Corruption

It takes a lot to blow me away, but Cycle of Corruption certainly blew me away. This is a tremendous lewd adventure game that has a horror theme with hot succubus monsters and a great mystery that you need to unravel, all the while trying to stay alive and keep your sanity. Add to this some amazing lewd pixel art, and you have one of the best lewd games I have played in a long time. Even more awesome is the fact that this is getting a full release on Steam, so I will 100 percent be picking it up there to play on my deck.

The Asylum

I love a horror movie set in an asylum, and that is the backdrop for where all the spooky stuff in Cycle of Corruption is happening! We play the role of a man who finds himself in the old abandoned asylum, and let’s just say that this place is not as abandoned as he thought it was. Turns out that there are succubi from another world in this place, and they will stop at nothing to get their hands on us. We need to try and survive and piece together what happened here, and also try to discover if there is any way for us to get out of this situation alive!

One Bit At A Time

The premise of the story that Cycle of Corruption is telling alone already had me interested, but it is the way that this game builds its world and drip feeds you bits of information that hooked me. Sure, you get the big story set pieces that will move things forward as you progress through the game. However, it was finding bits of journals, paper, and other such things that expanded the story and helped fill in blanks, and also set my own imagination running, which I loved here. If you love horror, you will really get into this. Think of games like Splatterhouse and Corpse Party; if you like that kind of thing, you will find the story told here to be very much to your liking!

Survival Is Not Guaranteed!

While the setting and the story of Cycle of Corruption are great, I found the gameplay to be just as enjoyable. The game is played from a top down perspective, and we get to explore this abandoned and succubus riddled asylum as we please. However, we have a flashlight that has limited batteries, there are many puzzles to solve, and if we come across a succubi, we'd better run or try to hide. You always feel on edge here, and the puzzles, which range from sorting things to a type of chess, never feel so hard that they will frustrate you or make you lose interest. This is the kind of game that makes you want to keep on playing. I could not tell you anything radically original that it does, but I can tell you that it does what it does very, very well and I was sucked in right from the start.

Cute Pixel Monster Girls…. Want You Dead

I am a massive fan of the pixel art that brings Cycle of Corruption to life. There are several very hot looking Succubus ladies that want to get their hands, claws, fangs, and more on you! The quality of the pixel art is awesome, and while pixel art is not usually a turn on for me, I do think that these monster girls have a ton of personality, and the animation is nice and smooth too. It is more the situation that makes things hot, oh and by the way, the XXX content means that you failed as these succubus chicks want to have your “essence” but that also means they will leave you for dead. Thankfully, there is a clever gameplay mechanic that allows you to see the sex scenes without being fully punished for it.

Pros:

• The abandoned asylum setting is so awesome
• This game has some very hot monster girls
• I loved the exploration and puzzle gameplay
• The lewd pixel art is fantastic!

Cons:

• The whole monster girl thing has to be your jam for you to like this
• It was so good, it left me wanting more!
