Divine Adventure is based on the Dragon Ball Z series and that alone was enough reason for me to check out this game. I have played many lewd parodies of the Dragon Ball Z series over the years and I feel that I have a good take on what ones are good and what ones are bad. Sadly, this one here is leaning more towards the bad category as it is perhaps too ambitious for its own good in some places and not ambitious enough in others. If you are a fan of the series by all means give it a go, but I would not get your hopes up too high.

The God Of Destruction

When I first read what the plot of Divine Adventure was, I thought that it actually sounded pretty damn awesome.

Beerus and Champa are both gone and now you are the one who is chosen to be the god of destruction. I thought that the premise here was so great, but it never really goes anywhere if I am being honest and the story is very hard to follow.

Wait, I Forgot About Her!

A big part of the story being told in Divine Adventure is you getting to have sex with some iconic Dragon Ball Z characters with the likes of Android 18 and Bulma making an appearance for example. This is great in theory, but the story is so all over the place that characters come and go without explanation, some just disappear from the story altogether and some are used way too much. I feel that they were going for an “epic” kind of story and perhaps bit off more than they could handle with the number of characters and plots that are all supposed to be happening at the same time.

Good Art Is Always Good Art… Even If It Doesn’t Move!

Visually, Divine Adventure is a game that has some of the best XXX images of Dragon Ball Z characters that I have ever seen. The artwork in this game is fantastic and that alone I am sure will keep some people pushing forward so that they can see the next XXX piece of art. The thing is, as good as the art in this game is, there is no animation at all! It is all just still pictures, do not get me wrong they really do look fantastic, but this game feels like it really needed to be animated!

Keep Clicking

The gameplay of Divine Adventure takes place over the course of days and you have various things that you will have to do each day. I think that they did a decent enough job here of making the things you have to do relate to things we know and love from the Dragon Ball Z series.

However, as the story is all over the place it is very hard to get invested and before long, I found myself just blindly clicking to try and get to the next XXX image.

I would not say that Divine Adventure is a horrible game, but I think that if it was just a game where you have sex with a few Dragon Ball Z characters rather than trying to be this epic tale, it would have been much better for it. The story, I am sorry to say is just all over the place, so much so that I thought I messed up as some plot points would be just dropped altogether without any kind of explanation. If you are a big fan of Dragon Ball Z, check this out as the art alone makes it worth at least playing for 30 minutes or so. If you have no interest in the series at all, you will not get anything out of this game at all I am sorry to say.

Pros:

It features some fantastic lewd art
I feel that there was an intent to tell an epic lewd Dragon Ball Z story
You can get through the game pretty easily by randomly clicking around
Being the new god of destruction was a cool premise

Cons:

The story is a freaking mess, pretty much right from the start
The art is amazing, but it really would have been something special had it been animated
