KoboldKare

Imagine a creature-breeding game where the only objective is creating the most depraved specimens you can imagine. That’s basically the gist of KoboldKare, a game where you must create an entire race of lusty reptilians, with the sole goal of turning each new generation more corrupted than the rest.

That might sound a bit… disturbing, but KoboldKare presents the subject of eugenics with an incredibly addictive gameplay loop that keeps you properly hooked all the way through. Even if you’re not into the whole furry (or “scalies” as they’re known in some circles) vibe, this is one genuinely addictive game that goes beyond its naughty premise.

Breed, Grow, Repeat

The basic gameplay loop of KoboldKare is pretty basic. All you need to do is pick your random eggs and raise them into Kobold maturity. Here’s the catch: every aspect of a Kobold’s anatomy is randomly generated. This means that you never know how your creatures are going to turn out.

Compared to something like Spore, where you pick exactly the pieces of your creations, KoboldKare can feel a bit daunting. However, the randomness adds some extra challenge, along with a more engaging gameplay loop that, at times, reminded me of the thrill of raising Digimon in the first Digimon World game – only that game wasn’t as horny as KoboldKare, for sure.

Mix and Match

Creating the ultimate Kobold can be a difficult task. Luckily for players, there’s really no clear standard for what “ultimate” means. In essence, you can create your own harem of Kobolds that are all tied to your likes, without bothering too much about pesky things like stats or anything like that.

Essentially, KoboldKare is all about creativity. You’re given a massive sandbox and the only objective is to have fun. Naturally, this fun comes from watching the Kobolds engage in, you know, “reproductive” activities. You can sort of influence their growth, but I found it even more rewarding to just let things run their course and let the RNG decide the kind of creature you’re left with. And if you’re not happy with the results, there’s always a next batch.

Constant Evolution

An issue players always find with games like this is that, as ambitious as the subject can be, the actual content included in the game is decidedly finite. That’s not a problem for KoboldKare and its healthy collection of user-created mods. Much like Garry’s Mod, KoboldKare thrives on fan content, including all sorts of parts and gaming mechanics that are not included in the base game.

Honestly, playing with mods is the way to go. Not that the game can’t be played in its vanilla state, it’s just that the mods refine the experience beyond what the developers had in mind. Things like larger maps, better animations, and even larger “appendages” are some of the essential mods that completely change the tone of this surprisingly engaging game.

KoboldKare is an erotic sandbox and a great farm simulator in one. Travel to an amazing world where you have a whole race of your own kind at your disposal. Raise kobolds on the farm and sell them. Or find an attractive partner among them and use his body until you meet more perfect specimens. Make breeding and love on your free farm. Take everything from life, as well as create it yourself on your favorite farm.
